Agreed, and the parents should step up if they think it's innappropriate. Don't blame entertainment blame the idiots who let it affect their lives and the parents who allow it to happen.

I admit that online activity of the young is a bad influence because of the adult factor. I personally don't think anyone under a certian point in mental maturity should even be allowed to play online where there is a chat mechanism because it will expose them to predatories and poor conduct of adults. It's natural for young people to mimic adults, thus not monitoring and censoring their exposure can be harmful, but that is the parent's responcibility. This is a fault on parents.

No one should be prevented from playing games, but I believe parents should actively monitor the games that they allow to be played. I support gaming in all forms, but I also support the involvement and enforcement of parental restrictions in all situations. If the parent does not take this responcibility to teach their child properly that's their problem. Another fault on the parents part.

If you want to look at a good title to enforce the positive factors of gaming look up Harvest Moon, it's a series in which you are required to have alot of skills to succeed, including math, logic, planning, and social responces. To reach your goals in this series you have to learn how to turn profit, work hard, manage resources, and make friends. It's a perfect example of everything good about gaming.

I do not think its harmful and if it is is not terribly harmful, i can understand that it can be but thats only in over use. just like anything these days everything is good in moderation over use of anything can result in harm.
