What is the best economic system?

What in your opinion is the best economic system? Not what is hypothetically the best, but what in reality is the best. Feel free to explain why as well.

Well the one we have here. The Capitalist one. We work and we get pay then they get pay
they get rich and we get the means to survive. Not a bad thing, tho it is always better to be on the minority class that rules this country.

Tho i am a firm believer of communism as long as a competent leader (me lol) leads the pack we shall be fine. lol

Capitalism is, in my opinion, the best, because usually it's consistent in it's representation of the people.

Socialism, on the other hand, gets a bad rep. The government controling everything is only bad if you have a bad government. So, it's a difficult system to work out.

Communism is good in theory, but has shown itself to be bad in practice.

As I understand you, you're in America like me. We're a Socialist Republic, not a Capitalist Democracy. You're thinking of somewhere like Mexico.

That's not what Socialism is. Socialism is like a half way Capitolism, where the government steps in to keep the peace, break up monopolies, and support the economy in the long term through investment, etc.

There's been like a handful of actual Communisms in human history, atleast on a large, country scale. Countries like Nazi Germany and it's like, which I'm using as the example of what I take it you're referring to, were not Communisms. They were Totalitarian Dictatorships that said they were Communisms because Marx said that was the best thing you could be. North Korea, for example, is not a Communist society.

There were provinces of Spain that pulled it off for awhile, and it went pretty well. Then they got attacked .

Well we might not be total capitalist but that is what we supposedly represent. I know the government thinks of socialism as a bad thing and well i dont think it is. But i still like communism better. We are a mix of socialist and capitalist, tho the word capitalist gets thrown out a lot more than socialist. And the reason being is because of what you stated.

That might be true, but our wealth is owned by a small group compared to the population. Correct me if i am wrong but Big businessmen run this country. We are at war because of the economy, not because of patriotism. Yes the government gets us, or at least tries to, health plans, food plans and such. That is why i derived to the part that we are a mix of capitalist and socialist. While true capitalism is dead and really doesnt exist anymore we are recognized around the world as a capitalist nation, tho i think this is a stereotype towards america because we seem to love money more than our own lives.

Alright, the corrections-

Saying that anyone runs the country besides the government representing the people would require adequate support, because the former is the official stance. You can't just say the Illuminati controls us without backing it up .

You can say we're at war because of any number of reasons, but that's a bigger claim that'd need support, and would derail the thread.

And again, you don't say things like 'a mix of Capitalism and Socialism,' because Socialism is already part Capitalism. That's like saying "We're a hybrid electric car that also uses electricity." It's already in there.

As for the stereotype, internationally, the stereotype of American's is alot worse than you describe, but rarely do they call us on being Capitalists (we have them shout that at us in our movies, which is where the idea comes from, and the actual negative stereotype comes into play ). They're alot better educated than we are on the whole, so they were actually taught the difference and know better .

Tobacco makes alot of money for it's respective companies, but almost pales in comparison to the amount of tax money the government generates from it undivided, unlike the different companies are. So in this example, the government still wins . Thank You For Smoking is a great movie, btw.

Think of them as on a lateral scale, which they are. Think of Capitalist as 100% Capitalist, and Socialism as 50% Capitalist. You wouldn't say we're a 50% and 100% economy, would you? Like you wouldn't say a country's a Democratic Communism. They're on a lateral scale.

I guess you can say that but 30 years ago someone would have not understood you if you said what a hybrid car was. to them it would have been either diesel or gasoline, not electric. The economy has been a hybrid of socialism and capitalism for the past 60 years it has not been totally socialist or capitalist. So we are a scale but not a 100 and 50. not even 50 50, we move the weight of each system as we see fit.

and may i add...
capitalism since it is mainly characterized by private ownership tend to abuse labor in different ways. private ownership results to greed to have more. and the rich go rich and the poor go poorer.
capitalism is rotten and will later on meet its end giving way to socialism...
capitalism is for the selfish...
socialism is mainly collective effort to improve the way of life of a group, a country...
communism is where we find peace...it is the highest form of economic and social system...
(some tried it but failed because of selfishness...you can never attain socialism then communism unless we learn selflessness...)
