Assistant Mods, help Moderators.

Not much detail, but still.

You are already helping us around the forum. How you might ask? By just clicking the report button or PMing us of who is breaking the rules etc........

No. We already have too many try hard backseat mods. No need to slap a label on it.
Unless you can come up with a legitimate job for them.

This is unnecessary. It'll cause too much trouble for the admins dealing with such users. You can help the mods by just using the report post button (the exclamation mark icon) on rule violations.

The idea is pointless

mods have so little power as it is..that this position would just make being anything other than a Quasi or an S pointless

I'm not sure if I'm misinterpreting the OP's idea, but...
If it's a staff position with less power than moderators, then it is pointless, as they could do virtually nothing of benefit to the moderators.
If it's a staff position with the same power as a moderator, then it is redundant. Why not just make them moderators?
If it's a staff position with more power than moderators, then they aren't really assistants, are they?

The thing is the Moderators have 3 different types which I think is enough to be honest...

They have normal, super and another one I think correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there are too many as it stand now let alone introducing more.

But AM would clearly be the lowest and compeltly pointless. IMO a Mod is just an assistant for the higher ups. No reason so have another.

No there are only two types of mods. Super Mods and Mods. The other rank is an admin position.

The problem is that there is nothing to compromise. What would assistant moderators even DO that isn't covered by the Mods, who already have such limited responsibilities, or by helpful regular users who already report things to the Moderators as it is? If people want to assist moderators, then they can just do so by reporting anything that goes against forum policy. The work they do is much appreciated, and they are the people that will be considered for moderator positions if there is need for them, which there currently isn't. There is no need to give them a separate title. That's why there is no need to discuss anything. I mean, unlike Sajuuk, I'm not against discussion, I'm just saying that there really isn't anything to discuss anymore.

I'm not against discussion either, but if a decision is made posts ago, there's no real need to continue it, unless someone can come up with a good reason as to why said idea should be implemented
