sight based Genjutsu doesn't work on Pain, only sound based Genjutsu does.

Their sight is connected, but since Nagato is their primary chakra supply and for Genjutsu to work, chakra needs to be present. They're not human as far as I'm concerned (in terms of Naruto's "human" definition). I wouldn't think it works on them.

Missles or pulling a rock would block the pointing finger or all of the paths touch each other and send chakra thoughout them. Wait even though it was anime genjutsu only worked on one path.

In the manga, Nagato caught Itachi with his planetary thing while he was inside of Susanoo. He needed help from Bee and BM Naruto to destroy the core. In this 1vs1 I dont see Itachi powering his way out of it this time and Nagato can just keep him up there until he runs low on chakra and susanoo falls or something like that

It all works the same way just uses a different sense for an attack. Overall it is just attacking the mind in general. Sense he has an established connection with his path it would work. At the very least it will work on a path at a time. Cutting the site connection from the one.

Nagato knows full and well of his genjutsu abilities.

Asura paths fires weapons at Itachi so Itachi is forced to stay on the move thus not use genjutsu

From there Animal path can summon and spam boss summonings

And finally Deva uses Plantary Devastation to finish Itachi off

Pains amount of chakra outlasted naruto's easily at that time even though probably spent a thrid of it on destroying the village before he even fought naruto. Itachi wouldn't last chakra wise and the scale of push pull would be too much. Susanoo would have a chance but I just don't see pain being dumb enough to let that happen.
