This is only good for extremely petty things, and even then has some heavy limitations. Most illegal activities carry more than one law associated with them. Hitting someone with a bat can end up having 2 or 3 different charges laid on you for various other laws you broke in the act of breaking the first one. These complexities make something like this nearly worthless, especially if you wanted to break a major law which almost always has other charges associated with it. Not to mention different parts of the US, and the world, have different laws regulating the same acts, with their own associated laws ontop of that.

Which is why if you're going to make a habit of breaking the law, you should know the law. And in that case you might as well go into law school and make a profession out of the knowledge.
