Is the Church Still Corrupted

I am talking about the Catholic Church. I as a Christian have done lots of history on my religion

Anyways haven't personally found a corrupted church yet and quite honestly, it's a lil impossible to be corrupt when you don't control the social structure of society.

And before anyone assumes, I'm agnostic. But it's my belief that many of religions are hypocritical almost by nature. Especially Catholicism. Not to say that those who are Catholic are hypocrites, but rather those who front it.

Corruption isn't limited at the Catholic church is what I'm saying, but this isn't much of a debate. Because they are.

How can you compare the church which was just coming out of the dark ages to the modern church?

1. A church which had enough influence to have ignorant peasants pay to indulge.
2. A church who's excommunication which was the equivalent of a death sentence.
3. A church which hundreds of years before had enough influence to incite the crusades.
4. A church which defined what witches were and lead to the slaughter of thousands of innocents in the 15-18th century.

The only thing church is guilty of nowadays is having their own channel on cable television, which they use to denounce secular activities even in their own following.

1) Not their fult. They could not be educated.

2) Ecommunicated as bad as death? Debatable, ever heared of Philip the fair? after the 1300 that basicly came to a hold and no longer worked. The Pope was even kidnapped. They no longer cared.

3) That is because they wanted aso called cross. Which was clearly not the one jesus used. But the men did it also because the Church offered them alot of time off of pergatory. That was just a religios war. Not really corrupt. Look at what they did. Had sex, stole money in a way. ect...

4) Actulyl you can thank a book for that not really a church. But that would then be counted as Heriasy and most women killed because of the way they looked at that age. To define what class they were and age. Or role. The Churge killed Joun of Arc because of her wearing armour and fightin, talking about a Agnel talking to her. And cutting her hair. it's true there were others such as a the Lutherans and calvinists who broke away from the church,but the millions of others under its dominion; excommunication was worse than death. It was to be banished from the grace of god. Think of it as honor to the old world Japanese.

Inciting a war based on belief is the very definition of wrong and corrupt. We're not talking about fighting for freedoms, we're talking about telling the masses we want an imaginary cross, with underlying motivations.

Again how does act as a rebuttle? There's evidence to show people took advantage of the hysteria and used it to for personal gain; grudges land hatred, you name it. To tell others to kill without trial and reason, is the very definition of corruption.

There's what, 2 billion Christians in this world. Can't call them corrupt because one or two people, hell 1 or 2 small branches are bad.

Every christian I've ever had the pleasure or displeasure of talking to, have tolerant honest working people.Can't blame me for looking at the past and not seeing anything wrong with it as a whole.

Well, I'm Orthodox Christian, and every priest I know lives poorly.
Temples aren't that rich either, they're all 500+ years old and in a bad shape.

The institution is most certainly corrupt .
Some time ago they used the donation money for themselves in my town.
I don't know where all the money goes, it's stupid how they steal but they don't use it for the church but for ''something''

More specifically the Roman Catholic Church. And the answer is yes.

Religion itself has become so perverted by corruption it is difficult to discern between those of benevolent intent and those of malevolent intent.

Same thing is said about the religion of Islam and Judaism. I find a mass majority of religions are corrupt these days (this includes their respective books) that it is best to be true to you and your faith. No matter what anyone says, follow your own intuition and gut, especially when it comes to religion.
