Elephant vs Rhinoceros

Two great animals of amazing power, although none of them are predators. Both prefer peaceful lives scattered across Africa, but what if they would fight each other in a battle to the death?

Spoiler:

Species: African Bush Elephant and White Rhinoceros.
Location: African savanna.

Statistics Elephant Rhinoceros
Height: 3.3 m 1.8 m
Length: 6.5 m 4 m
Weight: 5.5 t 3.6 t
Speed: 15 km/h 40 km/h
Weapons: 2 tusks 2 horns

Notes:

A secondary elephant "weapon" would be its feet: the 5.5 tonne weight placed on such a small surface would crush any animal on the ground, but a Rhinoceros won't fall so easily. However, an elephant could be able to stand on its rear legs and slam down its forward feet against the Rhinoceros, but this would require good timing and put the elephant at risk.
Elephants have been recorded to run at 25 km/h during a competition in Thailand, but only three elephants were able to surpass the speed of 15 km/h, which seems to be the standard speed.

i say rhino, cause the speed of it colliding the elephant w/ the horn is devestaiting. not to mention the rhino has thicker skin than the elephant

I think I agree with you. Although the elephant is stronger, the rhinoceros is more physically capable of killing. An elephant has such short tusks and it would be difficult for it to stomp the rhino's head in the right time, since such a maneuver would expose its belly to the enemy's horn.

My own conclusion: Spoiler: Uncertain... an elephant is much stronger than a Rhinoceros, but a great advantage for the weaker animal is its superior speed and ability to run in under the elephant and strike its stomach with one of the horns. Unless the elephant can stop a charging rhinoceros, it is doomed. The Rhinoceros have tougher skin at some points, but an elephant is larger, making it more difficult to hit any vital organs. Both have good chances of victory, but in the end I have to give the advantage to the Rhinoceros because it is simply more physically capable of killing. The elephant will have trouble reaching the rhino with such small tusks, while the rhino's horns could pierce the elephant's stomach from below during the charge.
