Hidan curse relies on him killing people. Assuming it wears off when he does not kill people for an extended amount of time hidan would return to mortal and being bodyless would kill him.

Hidan can only live by killing people, he cant really kill If he's buried alive under rocks, so he probably died

What evidence do any of you have that he 'has' to kill people to be able to remain immortal? Nothing I can recall in the series shows this to be the case...

EDIT: Just realized, the Hidan Kabuto is manipulating is a clone, not the reanimated Hidan.

Of course we don't know if thats just something his religion says you have to do but really has no effect on him.

It was stated that he was experimented on by people of the religion and thats how he became immortal. At least I recall something of that sort being said in the manga.

Turns out we apparently were all missing something.

Also, I don't think it's particularly fair to use things that took place in the manga to explain plot points in the anime. If you have to be familiar with the manga to understand things in the anime, I'd consider that still a failure.
