Because that doesn't damage the eye like regular MS jutsus, that seals the eye, which is unaffected by being an edo.

izanagi/izanami always seal away the eye that uses, no matter if it's MS/EMS or any sharingan.

@DrKage Yes I find the sample size too small. All Uchiha's are family. But is it close relatives that allow an MS to turn into an EMS only? There was only ever two cases, so it's not certain yet.

Izanagi/Izanami caused blindness is not normal. It seals the Sharingan and the eyesight.

That's a good point.. But we still dont have a valid proof to deduce that "simply" transplanting MS that comes from anyone within the Uchiha clan can progress MS to EMS. All I know is to gain EMS you need your brother's MS. For now I consider this correct until proven false.

Ok imma solve the 1 eye argument. Yes itachi could have had 1 ems. Why cuz the fact that both kakashi and obits have 1 ms. Toni has 1 ms and a tinny so it's very possiable that itachi could have 1 end and ms. Someone said his sussano would change. True but it would get stronger considering the ms is what allows him to have it. Madara has his brothers eyes and his sussano is a beast.

Oh yea the reason I say it's possiable is because they said only Uchiha could get ms and at that time only 3 had ever unlocked it. Now kakashi a non Uchiha unlocked a ms how should that be possiable. The only known way to get ems is from siblings it is said but only 1 was recorded by then. So that was a proven method. The rinny was suppose to be the most evolved from sharingan but Nagato yet another non Uchiha was able to obtain it. I know someone's gonna say he was a uzamaki which are decendents from the so6p but if that's the case then any shinobi can since everyone can trace their lineage from one of the two brothers.
