Have you been paying any attention to the weekly shonen jump rankings? The final arc started out horrible and didn't even capture the reader's interests as it was constantly ranking in the bottom 5. Plus the chapter where the Zero squad was introduced was ranked 12th. The character designs were awful and unoriginal.


Kubo is a bad story teller compared to Oda and even Kishimoto. His art has even gone more downhill. He has bad pacing where nothing happens in a lot of the chapters and he chooses not to hire assistants to draw the backgrounds and add more depth to his manga. Before you tell me that backgrounds is not important, it helps build the world in the manga and makes it more interesting. In Bleach, it looks like all the characters exist in a colorless box.


Things just happen in Bleach for no reason. There is no foreshadowing at all, and the plot twists don't make sense. Like, if Unohana was so powerful...how come we never even got a small hint of her power? And why did the Quincies decide to invade AFTER the Gotei 13 defeated Aizen.

The only reason Bleach is still being published, is because it is doing relatively well here in America.....but that's because of all the fanboys and fangirls that eat it up.

To be honest, I don't even want to buy the Bleach volumes anymore because it's not worth it with the no backgrounds and uninteresting art.

I would rather buy One Piece volumes.


Final thought: Look at a One Piece color page vs. a Bleach color page. You can definitely tell who puts in the most effort when it comes to manga

I'll admit that Kishimoto's story gets boring at times, but there is a reason why Naruto is still ranked highly in Weekly Shonen Jump (it even got #1 this week, over One piece)

the reason why Naruto is still good quality to me, is because it is still a story where the main character has an actual goal unlike Ichigo. Also, I am the only one out of the few that thinks the artwork in Naruto can be amazing at times. Kishimoto focuses on different aspects of his story like Shikamaru seeking revenge for Asuma. There is also a steady but slow progression to something great happening. Kishimoto even foreshadows stuff like the situation with Sasuke and Orochimaru.

So yes, i think Kishimoto is a better writer than Kubo

I liked naruto up until the pain arc's conclusion, which by all rights was about 4 years. But then the magic fairy dust pain used to revive the people he killed,had killed my interest.

@hipster22 there was a hint that unohana was powerful, it was hinted by kenpachi in the soul society arc.

The series isn't that bad, I still need to catch up, I'm behind
