Could Itachi have gotten an EMS if he wanted to? A: Yeh

Is it possible to gain EMS through the implantation of one other mangekyo sharingan? Shisui gave Itachi his MS, saying to protect the village with it. My thoughts were that if he had transplanted shisui's eye into one of his, would he gain the EMS ability? Or would he have only one eye with EMS? Or would nothing happen?

What are your thoughts on this?

No EMS. He already got his MS due to Shisui.

might be able to google "tobi susanoo both eyes" He is the one that told Sasuke you need to unlock MS in both eyes for Susanoo.

He could have, but it would have gotten him nothing since he was dying anyway. He already had all the jutsu, but was going blind. He could have taken Sasuke's and solved the blindness part but that wouldn't keep him alive. I guess he could have taken Shisui's, but who would have implanted them since all the Uchiha wanted his eyes, there would have been a fight brewing. And he already got one that he kept in a raven.

Blindness and dying is what makes you steal your sibling's eyes. Madara did the same thing to Izuna. His sick body gained strength and his new eyes gained the eternal light. If Itachi had taken Sasuke's eyes back then he would have become healthy again.

What?!? No. Not correct at all. Madara wasn't sick. He was just going blind from overuse of the MS. He took Izuna's eyes to get the eternal MS that wouldn't go blind. Itachi had a separate, unrelated, fatal illness that the EMS would not have helped with.

EMS has the combination of 2 MS and I don't remember Itachi's looking any different when he was Edo from when he was alive.

Well, now that I think about it...no he most likely couldnt have.

To obtain Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan you have to transplant eyes with someone who possesses Mangekyo Sharingan. But you also have to have Mangekyo yourself. Itachi told Sasuke fight him when he possessed the same eyes as he did. But Sasuke fought Itachi when he only had the regular Sharingan. So even if Itachi had wanted to obtain the EMS it wouldnt have worked. Because Sasuke did not have MS. So you can say that Itachi didnt kill Sasuke only because it wouldnt have done him any good.

But. As Kakashi demonstrated, it IS possible to train someone else's eye to get Mangekyo Sharingan. So therefor, Itachi could have probably taken Sasuke's normal sharingan and killed Sasuke's best friend himself in order to obtain EMS.

Thats probably the reason why Kakashi killed Rin. Because he had to obtain MS. The only way to do that was to kill Obito's best friend. Which, obviously, was Rin.

yeah but it couldn't be come sightless again in edo so TECHNICALLY it WAS an ems.

what about shisui...he didn't go blind so would you call that EMS too... Oh...and Danzo... so he also had ems?

Not to mention... sasuke... before he got MS... So he has ES (Eternal Sharingan) because he wasn't going blind...

Nope, 2 reasons

1. Madara said you need to have both to awaken its full potential.

2. To unlock EMS you need to transplant your brother MS. Shisui is not Itachi's brother.

Did you read Itachi's speech to Sasuke when he explained how Madara got EMS? Apparently not.
He said that, suddenly, strange things started to happen to Madara's healthy body, and that he did everything he could to regain the light. When he got desperate he took Izuna's eyes.

Itachi died because he was sick and overused MS besides his sickness.

Even Sasuke said that his whole body was in excruciating pain when he used Susano'o rib cage.
Now Imagine full Susano'o with MS only.
That's why Itachi ruined himself totally with the last jutsu. He shouldn't have done that, he had a few more minutes.
