Anyone do it? I've been wanting to, and after watching the recent Supernatural episode that had LARPing in it, I said screw it and I'm gonna start playing. After I get my license and a job of course >.> Until then I will just research xD

I've been trying to find weapons and armor, and the sites I'm looking at, man it's expensive as hell. I'm gonna have to try and make the stuff myself

I know what'cha mean. Last time I ordered a costume on the internet, it cost WAY too much. Although it did look fantastic.

I'll RP online, but doing it in real life is something I just won't do. I remember doing it when I was 5, but not when I'm 19.

Though they're similar, I wouldn't put cosplay anywhere near LARPing in terms of how geeky it is. Just can't do it.

An ex-classmate of mine is in the official Dutch LARP.
He says it is fantastic as hell. Sad thing most people look down on LARP people.
Still better than going outside and YOLO all day with the SWAG people.

I cant really speak being an avid anime/manga fan and a gamer(rpg,mmorpg,fighting,racing,platforming,hack n slash, and recently shooetrs) who wears glasses. But larping just seems cross the nerd/geek boundary over to idk just weirdness. (no offense).

I rather loose myself in some fantasy setting from the warmth and comfort of my chair/PC instead of getting outside wearing akward clothes /where it might or might not rain./snow etc.

It just seems redundant to me. If you really like acting so much isnt like a theather club with a fantasy hint a better alternative.

But depsite my negative view on it all the power to you.
Im sure that it could be a great thing if you have dedicated friends who would want to actually do it with you.

It's different because it's acting and staged in theater, and in LARP you can kinda do your own thing, and depending on the group, you can beat the living crap out of each other and not get injured...well badly.
