Heir of the Hyuuga Clan?

I'm confused about something. Is Hinata still the heiress to her clan? I've read that Hanabi superseded her by her father's decision, but I can't find any canon material that points to which of them is heiress. Can anyone help?

I've never heard anything about her being replaced, I don't see why they would now she is getting to be a better fighter

Hinata was born first and even if Hanabi surpassed her in the beginning I don't see her being heiress now since Hinata has gotten a lot stronger... But in decision I think Hiashi may in which not choose her... He may not even pick the girls ... Neji is probably the likewise choice for heir even if he's from the side branch ...

I believe that in a filler episode where they showed that Hinata had been training with Neji during the Time Skip that Hinata stated that Hanabi was the heir because Neji tried to tell her that as the heir her father should train her.

However, in this same episode I believe it was when Neji was chosen to lead the Hyuug's during the war and he tried to tell her father that she had gotten stronger, but her father said that her being strong was never the problem, it was that she was too gentle.

So from that I kind of think that Hanabi was never stronger than Hinata, that it was just Hinata's gentle nature that never allowed her to hurt her little sister in training. However, that's an argument for another day.

I do believe that Hanabi is somehow the heir, since the ways of they Hyuuga are now changing and she hasn't been branded with the curse mark seal, plus if you read in between the lines in that episode it was implied that the only reason Hanabi had no been made leader of the Hyuuga's was because she was too young for real combat.

Anime/filler has no bearing on canon(manga).

i think this to, inspired by Naruto persistence, she will pass the expectations of her father, like Naruto she will prove herself, like Neji she will not let her destiny be predetermined by the family rules.

Hanabi had greater promise then Hinata and stronger then her, when she was five years younger.

Yet, they all have been training and Neji, likely only got put as leader for being the Jonin out of the three of them. As for being the heir, Hinata is first born, Hanabi is second, so by order of birth, Hinata is suppose to be the heir yet, there are cases where other siblings can become the heir instead, depending on how things go for the first born. Neji likely won't, just because of the fact, he isn't born to the leader of the clan, like Hinata and Hanabi are.

i think kishi purposly remove hinata as heiress. so naruto can marry hinata and be the hokages wife. thous making her be the queen of the village. hahaha thats my opinion.
