Sharringan picked it up. Obito knows that Minato threw the kunai but the speed. Sharringan has the ability to predict movement right? But what can you do if your opponent is much faster than you? Nothing..

So minato is true genius!

All Obito had to do was stop his original kamui directed at Minato, and use the kamui on himself to transfer his entire body to the other realm so nothing could strike him. When he saw the kunai being thrown so gently which he was going to pick up with his sharingan, he would've had the time to do that

Yes... Stop sucking minato and phase through. There was enough time for a sharingan user that knows Minato's moves, to notice Minato's plan and then counter it by not sucking minato and switching to kamui mode. The kunai has a seal on it as well, that can be picked up by the sharingan. People really underestimate the sharingan's capabilities. Remember how sasuke could notice all of Deidara's minute explosives travelling into his body? It could not have missed Minato's seal on the kunai, and would've reacted fast enough to give him time to change his jutsu. No hand seals were needed, and there would be no wasted movement.

Yeah, your right there was enough time and Obito knows what Minato is planning since the kunai was thrown but like I said the problem of Obito in this part is the speed. He couldnt keep up with Minato's speed. Its like you know where the punch is coming but your reflexes couldnt match the speed of the punch to dodge it.

Yeah I get you. But I said that there is "no wasted movement." It requires no movement to phase through objects, therefore requiring a significantly smaller amount of time to react to, unlike trying to dodge a punch

Yeah, it requires no movement but it takes time to activate MS and use Kamui. Obito was about to touch Minato when Minato used Hiraishin lvl 2. That attack was instantaneous, meaning no amount time being used to execute. Therefore the percentage of dodging such attack is 0% because the location of the kunai is point blank range.

Obito knows what Minato is going to do but he miscalculated how fast Minato could launch that Hiraishin lvl 2. Like I said you can predict movements all day long but if your reflexes couldn match the speed of the attack its useless.

Minato has the yellow flash speed right? that's called transportation: movement at high speed between A and B in which his direction of motion can be tracked....

Then he has the Flying Thunder God Technique where he Teleports from A to B in which there is no line of reference between A and B...he just disappears from one to the other...

So what he did with Tobi was combine the two. He started of his Yellow Flash Technique (High speed movement) and within it he threw the marked kunai... So while he was still in the Yellow Flash Movement, He teleported (used the Flying Thunder God Technique) and re-appeared behind Tobi's Back and rasenganed him... That's why he called It LEVEL TWO
