The Hidden Mist has got the very powerful Hiding in Mist technique which can obscure the ninja's movements. That's like Kirigakure's speciality since all of the shinobi in that village have to learn it at some point. Ok had to jump in after reading this. You keep up with the current manga, right? The Sand Shinobi used a jutsu to control air currents and move the mist where they wanted like two chapters ago -.- Also they can easily blow it away with other wind style jutsu using their fans.

Current Sand defeats the current Mist. The Mist had some powerful shinobi, but they're all dead now. The only ones the OP specifies are back are Zabuza and Haku. Putting them aside the Mist only has two named characters who are still alive right now (that I can think of anyway).

Also lol at implying that Mei could defeat Gaara.

Kisame is from the mist and is basically called the tail-less biju. since his chakra and strenght is of almost of a tailed beast. The Mist also had an alliance with the akatsuki before, which means they can do it again

Kisame is dead and also defected from the Mist so he wouldn't be fighting in a war for them even if dead characters were to be allowed. The Mist never had an alliance with Akatsuki either, they were being manipulated by Akatsuki (specifically the Fourth Mizukage being under Tobi's control). Mei would never agree to an alliance with the Akatsuki.

I was referring to the shinobi who don't use wind style. I know that the majority of the shinobies in Suna use wind style, but what about the puppet masters or shinobi with other techniques and abilities?

but what if the sand were to get wet then, would Gaara still be able to use it? Plus again with the Vapor style and lava style, Mei said those where the natures of earth, water, and fire being combined, which means she can use other jutsus

Lava Release or Boil Release= Melts Sand (only problem is that lava is quite slow but whatever).

Lava release doesn't melt things as quickly as you give it credit. It didn't do anything to Susano'o and the trees that got covered vs. Madara were not melted multiple moments after they first got covered. Gaara can also move the sand and use more of it. Boil release has been hinted to be ineffective outside of a sealed room (could've been that Mei didn't want the mist to spread to others though) and took a while to start to affect Sasuke-she'd be crushed long before it had any effect on Gaara assuming he's dumb and tries to fight her up close instead of from the air.

Yeah I say Gaara is the one out of all five Kage who has the most potential. After all, he is still so young, and has lots of time to improve his abilities. Which any amount of time is enough for Gaara. I mean c'mon, he made the title of Kazekage in two years time. And the 2nd Mizukage himself said that he was the golden egg among the current generation. ^^

That corrosive mist could've melted Susanoo's ribcage entirely if Zetsu hadn't interfered with his Spore Technique before she had time to finish off Sasuke.

I don't doubt that, it's just that in the time it took the mist to melt through Gaara's sand she'd already be crushed. And again-Gaara can avoid it entirely by flying and I'd like to see her try to use corrosive mist to melt through a Sand Tsunami.

the vapor can seep through the smallest crack in the sand and melt him. Plus we don't even know Mei's full capabilities since of the war right now, we only know the Kekkai Genkai's. But we do know Gaara's full capabilities, he doesn't have that much chakra and stamina since they took shikaku away from him

@Nine-Tails-Biju Yes Gaara can still use the sand if it is wet. This has been demonstrated many times in the anime and manga. ^^
@CoolerThanIce Gaara's sand defense has been shown to be able to block certain attacks that are impossible to block for any other shinobi. Such as amaterasu. Sasuke almost killed Bee with amaterasu even though he was fully transformed into the eight-tailed ox at the time. Not even tailed beasts can block that justu, but Gaara can. Also, A lost an arm to amaterasu as well. You can outspeed amaterasu, and A did that plenty of times when he was fighting Sasuke. But if amaterasu actually manages to touch you, there's no way to stop it from burning you to cinders. Unless of course you are Gaara. If Gaara's sand can stop amaterasu, why wouldnt he be able to stop lava as well? Gaara wasnt made Kazekage because he was a wimp. He is extremely powerful. And could easily defeat Mei.

There are cracks in Susano'o Ribcage too-barely melted Sasuke after an extended period of time. The process of getting the mist to the right pH takes a long time and an enclosed space. How is she going to hit Gaara when he's flying in the air and Gaara's catch and crush is done in less than a moment-far less time than the mist.

We can only debate on abilities shown. Saying we don't know character X's full capabilities so they beat a stronger character who has more panel time to show their powers is a horrible argument.

Bolded section: You're kidding right? Are we talking about the same Gaara that fought against multiple Kage and Madara in a row spamming massive sand attacks and manipulating enough sand to stop a meteor?
