I dont understand fillers, were they pre made and all this time they are drawing the war episodes? My assumption is right, right? no?

I noticed there are plenty of rumors and speculation that the ps3 will be the only system to have 3d compatibility I would like to let everyone know this is false....just because the 3d label is not on the front cover of the xbox version does not mean it wont be 3d tv compatible. I just wanted to put that out there...okay !

Dont forget that:

A canon Naruto villain apeared, BUT didnt get defeated, and left shortly afterward.
The ending credits. They were done in a movie fashion.
The way the animatipn looked made it look a lot like a movie.

I'm not entirely sure myself, however I can assume the production for Chikara was halted once Road to Ninja was being produced. Once Road to Ninja was finished in production they continued on Chikara, but realized by the time of July 2013 Kabuto's role with Edo Tensei and the war would be over, so having him in this 'new' movie for 2013 would be really strange and random.

Thus they decided to split the two hour movie into six episodes (enough time for the Opening/Ending every episode to build the 23 minutes) and they just wouldn't make a movie for 2013. So they are now skipping a movie this year and are now planning 2014's movie.

However with that said, the anime studio claimed they were releasing this six episode 'side story' because of Naruto reaching their 500th episode. While that is quite a landmark, I don't believe that is the full reason (and the entire reason is stated above).

@azal852: Just want to point out, that Road To Ninja's animation isn't very 'movie like' and is more 'average'. This points more to the fact that Chikara was supposed to be 2012's Naruto movie but was later shafted for Kishimoto's idea of Road to Ninja. They couldn't animate Road to Ninja as well because obviously they didn't have the time to animate it to that degree of quality, due to the short notice they received for making that movie.

No, fillers actually serve a huge purpose. Without them we would either be ahead of the manga (which is impossible) or we would be going at the dreaded one chapter pacing like One Piece is going at, which makes the anime completely not watchable. It's better to have interesting canon episodes along with fillers (crappy or not), versus no fillers and a horrible canon adaption.

Unless of course if you want to watch thirty episodes of Goku vs Freeza again. (This was the cause of having no fillers)

Also no, I do not like fillers at all, I'm with you there. However they are a necessary evil.

Everyone hates fillers, I mean if they actually served a good purpose like the Seven Swordsmen based ones then its not that bad.

Eh, Some fillers I can tolerate, If they're good/entertaining, then I'll watch them, if they're stupid, boring or just flat-out unenjoyable, I'd rather not watch until Naruto returns to Canon.

Though, I did enjoy the Filler with Utakata, kinda wish there were more Jinchuuriki Fillers....

wow heheh this thread is going a bit off topic but while on the subject here is a top 7 list from yours truly with my favorite filler arcs or episodes that are from shippuden only:

7. ep 129 - infiltrate the village hidden in the rain....(classic jiraiya)

6. ep 189 - sasukes paw adventure ..(Itachi is shown in rare format plus epic ninja cats!)

5. ep 234 - naruto's favorite pupil......( ha he he ...konohamaru pawns !!!)

4. ep 173 - the orgin of pain ...(life of nagato detailed)

3. ep 290 - 295 chikara saga ...(masterful story and fighting animation)

2. ep. 228 - fight rock lee ! ....funny epic and classic (medicine lee returns!!!)

1. ep 91-112 - Guren saga ....my favorite filler only char guren.."cc2 make her a character please !!....

some filler episodes are just so awesome and provide wonderful back or forward story to our favorite chars. These are the top ones that I would recommend!

for shippuden i really liked the adventures at sea arc, especially that part when their ship was infected with mushrooms lol at also that part where naruto was taken hostage by his clones xD.

for naruto PTS i would say the search for the bikochu arc, the kurama clan arc, and lastly Episode 101 when they wanted to know what was under kakashi's mask! xD ah memories....
