How did you become a Naruto fan?

So, how did you guys be the great Naruto loving fans you are today? Ill share my story first:

Started a couple of years ago, it was a saturday and I was bored out of my mind. Just when I was about to turn off the TV I see the opening of Naruto and thought its wasnt so bad. I was amazed at what I saw and became a great Naruto fan ever since.

Started YEARS ago on Jetix.
Watched until after Exams, then it was off or something, so I dropped it.
(NEVER watched on-line until quite recently. And DEFINITELY never BOUGHT anything Anime.)
Got reintroduced somehow half a year ago, very high chances through a video of Pain, seriously.
I don't remember already, but it SEEMS to be some "Hinata dies" video on youtube, seriously.

Might be wrong, but I think I'm not.

About 7 years ago my friend got me interested in it. Have been addicted ever since. Seriously, I hope there is a third series or I might just break down and cry for months.

I'm all for NaruHina now! I used to not be for it and liked Sakura with Naruto (Because I couldn't stand seeing her with Sasuke because he will never love her) but Hinata is perfect for him. And I like her appearance now. Chapter 615 changed it all!

i started at the orginal series on cartoon network and then i started to watch naruto shippuden when it came out then now i read the manga

Started Naruto back in 2009 I think (lucky me, by the time I finished marathon watching the first series, Shippuden's dub was being released)

I started watching Naruto because I was curious about it's popularity.

I watched the Dragon Ball Universe, was watching Bleach, started watching Funimation's brand new (faithful) One Piece dub, so why not 1 more shonen?

Was Naruto overrated or worthy of it's praise?

Better series than I was expecting and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I think there are many better anime and manga but I'd still definitely recommend Naruto to any newcomers to anime who don't mind long series.

I watched it around the time the Shippuden dubs started coming out. I marathoned through the non-filler episodes and was caught up within a couple weeks. It kind of made me want to watch anther anime. As I continued watching more and more, I realized that Naruto wasn't as awesome as other anime. Especially when I saw One Piece.

I somewhat keep up with Naruto, but it's not on the top of my to do list.

I was actually *gasp* an irrational hater of Naruto at the start! All I knew was that it was 90% filler, and mostly stupid kid stuff. Then I started watching LittleKuriboh's parody series, and it got me curious. So I went to watch the originals, and they weren't all that bad. I started fluttering around on the Naruto wiki, and reading stuff that caught my interest. So I started watching more.

Next thing I know, I've got a monthly subscription going so that I can watch the next Shippuden episode as soon as possible, and twitching nervously every week until a new chapter of the manga is released.

Well I was actually at a friends house the first time I ever watched an epsisode. It was the episode about Tsunade and Orochimaru where he wanted her to heal his hands. Back then I didnt have satellite and I didnt know what the show was all I knew was that I liked it. After that I got satellite. I was around 12 or 13. I saw the first Naruto movie on television. But I had no idea that it was the same show that I had watched at my friend's house. After that I saw another episode where Shikamaru was fighting Tayuya. My friends in middle school had all gotten into it by that time, too. They told me I should watch it. They also bought the shonen jump manga. So I watched a few episodes. At first I had no idea what was going on, and I didnt know if I would continue watching it or not. But then I saw the fight with Gaara and Kimimaro. It was so awesome. And I intstantly fell in love with Gaara. And after I watched all the other episodes, especially the ones about him, I was hooked for life. Then I decided to go to my local Game Crazy store. I bought the first and second Shonen Jump 2008 issues. I then got hooked on the manga. And fell in love with Gaara even more. lol. By that time, Shippuden had already started on Naruto.com. And I soon made myself an account on here. The really long filler arc started and my satellite got cut off. I still went to my friend's house every weekend though to watch the episodes with him. But then for some reason the whole series quit. And I eagerly awaited the start of shippuden. But it never came. I was sad, but at the same time I felt kind of happy because atleast the series wouldnt air without me. I still watched shippuden every chance I got whenever I was able to use the internet, and I have always stayed a loyal fan. And I'm still in love with Gaara to this day.

US Premiere on Toonami, it was very significant too me because the episode was aired the night before I started 5th grade.

That may have been 8 years ago.
