How is that not a statistical impossiblity? You are just as likely to win the lottery everyday of your life. The assumption they made was that it was 1 to 10 for each prophesy coming true. In reality it would be more like 1 in 1000.

You may not, but the general consensus does. And if you admit they have their historical accuracies and not that they are historically accurate, you are hinting they have inaccuracies as well. How do you locate these accuracies/inaccuracies? Is it for everyone to judge on their own? If that's the case then no debate is necessary, since everyone has the right to decide what is true for themselves (which they don't because truth is not relative).

There is no code in the bible. That's just what you said: stupid people making stupid statements. Although you said it a bit nicer.

Well, I'm glad you admit it does have historical accuracy but I'm curious if you show as much skepticism towards what they feed you in school or from other texts as you do towards scripture.

I tend to show a fair bit of skepticism towards what I learn/hear in school, I just don't have as much of an opportunity to say anything about it.

Truth and fact are entirely irrelevant to faith except on a personal level.

To some, the old testament, new testament, quran, or buddha scrolls are truth. However the definition of faith is based on spiritual apprehension rather than facts.

I find many of the bible's stories to be fascinating and inspiring, but I do not believe a vast majority of it aside from the Book of Enoch (which was completely omitted), Dead Sea Scrolls (Also entirely omitted) and the Book of Genesis (which has been greatly altered as well).

To each their own, imo.

I believe that the bible is largely true. But I believe that a lot of people have misinterpreted its meaning.

Honestly though, I fully respect peoples beliefs/religion. I just highly dislike when a religious person of any kind goes:

Time is an illusion but that illusion in itself is a fact, by us acknowledging it as so.

If you actually look up Buddha teachings from way back, they state that when one is able to cleanse the mind, body and soul completely, they no longer would require sleep, and that time could no longer restrain them.

I've always considered it to be about a perception of fact. Like, fact of the universe, or a fact of common knowledge.

I could easily argue that time is an illusion and not actually a fact of the universe. Seeing as we created the measures of time. But, I couldn't argue it as a fact of common knowledge.

That's actually pretty interesting. I always like hearing things about people's beliefs. I like to use them in my writing.

Nope. I believe, but I feel I'd have to be close-minded to take issue with someone not believing. Considering I understand skepticism and all that hooplah.
