In a matter of days, Instagram's new terms of service will be released and implemented.

If you do not know what those are, here you go (shortened down):

To break it down to the point, Instagram will be able to sell users photos to whomever they see fit and without the consent of the user that the photo derived from. That user will also see nothing of any type of compensation for the selling of their photo(s).

Now, since Instagram is owned by Facebook and is also integrated into the Facebook system, these new terms of service can be "considered" to be for both social media networks. In other words, your information and your photos are at a company's fingertips for whatever they want to do with it.

I recently just deleted all photos and deleted my Facebook as I see it as a spying tool more than anything. (They know where you are, what you do and who you are with or talk to on a near 24/7 basis.) With these new terms of service, you could be seeing yourself or someone you know on an advertisement.

I HIGHLY recommend some of you follow suit. If it isn't deleting your accounts, at least delete your photos that you do not want to be sold at a whim.

This is good advice but I had thought when I clicked the thread title the thread would be about something a lot more philosophical.

It's relatively easy to penetrate ones privacy (heh) and obtain info on them. All you have to do is what Anonymous does. DDOS the sh!t out of someone and voila.

Good idea. It should raise alarms when FB or IG automatically know where you are via GPS tracking...let alone this whole scam.

No offense but people shouldnt post stuff they dont want others to see on THE INTERNET. (your kinda stupid if you do)

Its that simple hence stuff like this does not affect me and people who think likewise.

You think it doesn't affect you but it does. It doesn't matter if you post nothing at all, if you have a facebook, someone know exactly where you are and what you are doing on a 24/7 basis. It isn't hard to GPS track someone and obtain their IPs.
