Galadriel destroyed an area three times the size.of.hogwarts casually and Gandalf was superior to her

He utters a word.of power and Albus bursts into flames then he flattens hogwarts

Call me when Albus can cause a hurricane that can be seen hundreds of miles away as a side effect of his fight- for get in a continental ranged mind battle

This isn't a vs match its a one sided slaughter

Olorin (aka Gandalf), no contest. For reasons as IWD already stated. Also going to throw in there that Gandalf is one of the Maiar, so technically on the same level as Sauron, and there's always the possibility that he'd just get resurrected by Illuvitar if he were to somehow die against Dumbledore as was the case in his fight against the Balrog.

Gandalf casually tanked a fireball and shattered Saruman's staff in a deleted scene. I expect he'd do the same to Dumbles.

Dumbles can apparate... and? It's ooc for him to use the killing curse and Gandalf's magic shield can tank all of his attacks. Seriously. Dumbles has no chance. Gandalf WoCs and blasts him into oblivion.

This is a tough fight, Gandalf's actor Ian Mckellan is gay yet the character is not and dumbeldore is gay but the actor is not.

But since Ian Mckellan was originally cast as Dumbeldore but turned it down for the role of Gandalf that must mean he thought Gandalf was the better of the two.

I'm going with Gandalf based on his word.

That deleted scene is in the extended edition either way his movie feats don't do him justice the dude solo'd the nazgul which caused a lightening storm

Then there's his building busting setting an entire hill on fire and the hurricane he caused fighting the balrog

The apparition gives him a huge advantage not only because he can avoid Gandalf's attacks by apparating anywhere in the world, but he can also apparate behind Gandalf and attack him behind his back before he least expects it.
It's ooc for him to use the killing curse and Gandalf's magic shield can tank all of his attacks. Seriously. Dumbles has no chance. Gandalf WoCs and blasts him into oblivion.
It's not really ooc for him to use the killing curse if you think about it. He went through two wizardring wars, surely he must've killed some deatheaters in both of them.

Dumbledore's only problem would be that Gandalf's immortal. Otherwise, he's got no chance to defeat Dumbledore. What will hurricanes, earth quakes and all that stuff do if the guy can use protection spells and apparate?

Please tell me have you read Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, or the Silmarillion? If not, then get out of this debate-you obviously have no idea what Gandalf is capable of and are obviously just supporting your favorite character.

Now on to your points,
Avada Kedavra: It's beyond OoC for Dumbledore to use it-he wouldn't use it period. It splits the users soul into pieces and is the epitome of evil magic. And thinking it doesn't mean that it instantly affects Gandalf. It's still a slow moving ray type spell that Gandalf would clearly be able to see coming. Now say he does manage to hit Gandalf with it-great he just comes back to life and kicks the out of Dumbledore after he thinks he's won.

Protection Spells: Doesn't save him from everything and can be broken. What specifically did Dumbledore's protection spells even block-I can't think of a single example off the top of my head. Seeing as Gandalf was able to damage a Balrog with Glamdring it should go through Dumbledore's protections spells like a hot knife through butter.

Apparating: How many times is apparition used as a battle technique over the course of the series...oh, right like never. It's pretty much only used for travel and running away. The user also has to concentrate on their destination and not do it rushed or they will splinch. Something I doubt Dumbledore will be able to do while his face is burning off.

Keep in mind the Gandalf we know has only shown a fraction of the power he's capable of due to restrictions given to him by the Valar.

Why is Gandalf dying from something the power of love can protect someone from? Why is Gandalf a demi god that isn't even technically alive super charged with so much magic falling to something Dragon scales can no sell?

Why is Albus doing that to someone with super human reaction time before he gets blown up?

first of all it gives him no such advantage considering Gandalf got into mind rape battles with Sauron with a range that was continental in size. Second of all Gandalf has superior reaction time casually vaporizing arrows fired by super humanly strong elves mid air with ease

Fine then, I was only debating by what I've seen in the movies so there's obviously no point in debating anymore. And no, I was certainly not supporting my "favorite character" (where did you get that from???) I don't like none of these two characters and I was being totally neutral. Fan based debating is against the rules anyway, so why would I do that unless I wanted to get banned?

Okay, sorry for being so aggressive, we've just been dealing with a rash of wankers in the BG's lately so I was on edge. I just assumed you were a Dumbledore wanker after your impassioned defense of Dumbledore, mentioning vague concepts like "protection spells" as a counter to Hogwarts flattening attacks, and trying to debate against a movie Gandalf when we use primary canon in debates per BG standards and IWD had just mentioned in the post before yours that movie Gandalf can't hold a candle to the Gandalf in the books.

I apologize for using the movies as an information source although I knew that you aren't supposed to do that in BG (not only because of that but it would be pretty idiotic not to go by the original if you ask me) but as weird as it may seem I was actually under the impression that all of you guys who were on Gandalf's side were simple "Lord of the rings fans" who were underestimating Dumbledore simply because you didn't like him and the Harry Potter series, and had only read the J.R.R. Tolkien books that you mentioned. So I got carried away and started debating on Dumbledore's side just to prove you guys wrong. I didn't even think that Dumbledore could actually take this fight, I just thought you guys were a bunch of ignorant "Lord of the rings fans" whose love for Tolkiens books overshadowed your way of thinking.

the Mongooses make it a policy not to ban someone on their first day here..proving bias can be tricky we tend to prefer to watch you debate over a time to have more than sufficient proof.
