I can see this is a bait/response thread.

Asuma blitzes.

Or he should be able to blitz.

Jirobo has one of the greatest strength feats in the manga but his speed is rather average for a genin and reflexes aren't great enough.

This is about right, the only thing he has in speed is that byakugan couldn't keep up with him to the point that for Neji it seems like he vanished.

That's far from bad, Choji is currently well within "Kage Level" and Part 1 w/ Butterfly Mode was easily among the strongest of all.

To be fair, Asuma doesn't have much in the way of speed.
Blitzing past Byakugan which was able to somewhat keep track of 5 gates Lee puts Jiboro a leg ahead. Also note the chakra dome, if he can manage to land it, would be almost an instant win for him since Asuma lacks the damages to get out.

Anyway asuma should be superior in everyway atleast in base. I mean asuma gave hidan a hard time the same hidan who was pressuring kakashi.

Jirobos death if he tries any kind of close combat because he will get beheaded.

And hes not safe at long range either due to burning ash and that wind jutsu.

When...? Hidan was toying with him while also evading three other people including Shika shadows. Asuma posed literally no threat to him.

Jiboro tanked a sliding body slam from someone big enough to have his nostrils dwarf pine trees. I don't think burning Ash or the wind jutsu will do much harm.

If i recall it correctly asuma handled hidan while the other three mainly focused on kakazu.

And what speed feats does jirobo have?

Crushing=/= burning or cutting. Tanking one does not exclude taking damage from the other. Asumas attacks are more lethal anyway becuase there enhanced by wind chakra.

I wouldn't call it "handled". Hidan was doing flips and having a ball while ballerina stepping out of the way of shika shadows. Asuma was helpless to the point of getting poked simply from Hidan scooting his scythe rope.

Blitzing past Byakugan. At the least that puts him at unweighted lee and then some since Neji easily countered Lee on a multitude of occations. Also counting him point-dodging an easily transonic/very low supersonic arrow from his blind spot while on the verge of death.

I'm going to apologize and say I don't see Asuma being faster than Kidomaru's spiral tipped arrow.

Cutting is a matter of him being too slow to do anything. The rest can simply be evaded or worked around, and burning Ash gave some nasty burns but really thats about it.

How? He didn't land a single hit on Hidan while Hidan was moving at so much as a light jog's speed. Proof me.

When? If you mean the uppercut, Neji didn't have Byakugan on. Also Jiboro > Kidomaru's Arrow in speed since the arrow was detected by Jiboro wasn't.

It was more or less a Sumo match, and the entire squad got blitzed beforehand. There wasn't any running so much as overpowering in direct combat. Asuma didn't have enough speed to be a contender in that fight, he was totally outclassed and had no actual chance. Hidan had to be standing still or tethered down in order for Asuma to land a hit, and even then he was moving slowly to do it.

No way does Jirobo win this. I don't know why Vivi keeps trying to say Neji couldn't track him with Byakugan due to Jirobo's speed which is blatantly false. Neji like everyone else was knocked off balance by Jirobo's attack which is why he momentarily lost track of where he was, there were multiple panels in between Jirobo's doton and him attacking the Sasuke Retrieval Squad. I normally hate bringing databooks into an argument but Jirobo is not fast. He has a speed stat of 2 (lower than average) whereas someone like Asuma has the same speed as Kakashi-4.5. Ignoring the databooks, the Sound Four had to go into CS2 to defeat two Special Jonin-if Jirobo had the speed that's being suggested he could've blitzed them. Asuma has enough speed that he could just lop off Jirobo's head with his Flying Swallow attack.

The distance helps out jirobo a lil bit. It's the length of 1 lap of a track

On this time jirobo can lift a huge bolder and throw it then go into CS2/cS1

Lets face it. Asuma's fire ninjutsu is not doing jack.

But I suppose when the battle gets close up its over for jirobo

Asuma, easily stomps Jirobo

1.) He's faster
2.) His chakra knuckles increase attack, as well as he has stronger jutsu.
3.) He's really skilled and experienced.

Sure Jirobo has the 2nd level Curse Mark however Kakashi sounded like he could deal with Sasuke's curse mark in the manga, so I believe Asuma could do the same with another character.

Even if he was off balance the Byakugan should have seen him as whether balance or not the vision remains the same.
and even then 188 Page 9.Everyone was balanced again.And Neji still didn't see him.
Heck all Neji did was fall on his knee is that being caught off balance now to the point that an Eye with near 360 degree vision can't see a big guy like Jirobo?

Anyway point still stands thats he is fast enough to atleast battle akatsuki members putting him leagues above jirobo which was put down by a genin.

The keyword is near. Jirobo couldve been in his blind spot. Chance can be small but you cant rule that possiblity out. Especially considering he was exactly behind him which is where his blind spot happens to be. Also neji was still a inexperienced genin there his use of byakugan could be under 'development'.

Summary:

Speed, check asuma wont be getting blitzed.
Range advantage, check burning ash and the wind thingy will finish jirobo when he closes in.
CQC advantage check, if jirobo through a miracle does manage to close he will get beheaded by asumas chakra knives.

The problem with your argument is that you are assuming that the Byakugan can tell instantly where everything is within their 360 degree vision which is falsified by the very example you bring up. For your idea of how things occured to work, Jirobo would have to be constantly moving at high speed over the time interval that the leaf nin were knocked off balance and took to find him again and he would have had to pick up that giant boulder while doing this. It appears most likely that Jirobo traveled underground (panel with the dust and the back of Naruto's head) after knocking Neji and the others off balance and got behind them. He was able to do this because Neji momentarily lost track of him and wasn't thinking to focus on watching the ground beneath them with his Byakugan. At any rate, it makes a lot more sense than Jirobo who has no other speed feats and is stated to be slow (in the databooks) zigzaging at Gates-level speed for several seconds while the leaf nin were stumbling around.

Edit: Assuming Byakugan users can instantly tell where everything in their range of vision is without focusing (which I can't believe since Hinata has a 10km range-no way she can tell where everything is in there) I think this incident would be more of a lolKishi moment where he forgot the Byakugan's capabilities than a Jirobo speed feat.
