This forum is for suggesting strategies for fighting against people on the Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and Generations games. Whether it be against certain characters, tips for using certain characters or game mechanics, against certain fighting styles, or certain spamming styles (yes, I have come across "tactical spammers"), we're here to help our buddies become better ninja! I'll start:
Tips for fighting Deidara users: Deidara is a good character, and he can chain attacks exceptionally quickly. What I've noticed with many Deidaras is that they either attack from medium or long distances from the ground or keep themselves airborne by using his aerial combos constantly, often while staying in the middle of the stage. Another tactic they may use interchangeably is using their jutsu, which summons 2 medium-sized explosive birds with exceptional homing, then charge their chakra and execute a combo, then repeat. Also, if the Deidara uses ground combos, they are likely to throw you if you charge them, which has ridiculous range for a throw. So what do you do? Here's what: (1) Choose a fast character you are comfortable with. Most characters will do just fine, but some characters that are extremely effective are Rock Lee, Sasuke, Neji, and Minato. (2) If you are in control of stage select, choose a wide open battlefield (like Site of Planetary Devastation). Clos(er) quarters (like Leaf Village) is Deidara's best friend since many of his creations chase after you, but the stages aren't really that tight, so it's not the end of the world if you don't get a big place. (3) Feel them out. Try to figure out what their game is, what tactics they use. (4) Approach them cautiously. That doesn't mean slowly, just be on your toes. (a) For me, the best approach for grounded Deidaras is to hop while zig zagging. Remeber also that you can dash through his clay. If you get close enough and he's still letting off a combo, then rush in their and begin your combo. If he tries his jutsu, guard (I haven't effectively found a way to dodge it yet), then continue. If he throws, hop around it and he's wide open. Even if he substitutes, you have a fast character, so just keep pushing until he's stuck in your combos. (b) I think the easiest Deidaras to exploit are the aerial ones. Simply hop while circling around the enemy, closing the gap. This way, the explosive clay won't hit you because the homing isn't that strong. Once you are close enough, do an aerial dash into them and begin the beatdown. With a speedy character and an aerial struggle, countering the enemy's substitutions with another dash is extremely easy. Do everything you can to stay close to Deidara once you've closed the gap. What did you guys think of my strategy? This is the first time I've done this, so I hope it was helpful and not too long. Advice would be much appreciated, and if you've noticed any cool tricks or player patterns, feel free to post! Thanks, guys!

That's a good strategy. As for myself...

Wow, that is good. A lot shorter, and more precise and clean than mine. I might have to try that kind of setup next time I post a strategy. Thanks for contributing!

Hidan in Storm 2.
This guy is a really underrated character. Nearly everyone uses him wrong. His support always solely supposed to be Kakuzu to count for on long range attacks. His down combo is really hard to sub. His chakra shuriken is one of the fastest in the game, next to Kakashi and Pain. His awakening has amazing guard-breaking capabilities, especially with his chakra shuriken. His jutsu should only be used when you are doing a combo on someone and they are out of chakra to sub, or if you're fighting puppets. His dash+ult can be used against Deidara spammers, and his fast chakra shuriken is useful against Sasori people since the puppet stops whatever it's doing when Sasori is attacked. I have used him for some time and he turns out to be a very good character.

How dishonest of you! If I didn't notice, you would've gotten away with it too!!
No problem...

Now That I have a computer to type on (was on my phone at first) Ranged Hero's taijutsu attacks are good. Deidara, Shino and Tenten all have wonderful taijustu attacks that while combining it with his ranged attacks strategically along with a good team to back you up(Shino and Tenten can support themselves in a singles match if you use combos and tilts smartly) and actually know how to use the battle to your advantage you should have no problems using them. I won't tell you a strategy to counter that though, I'll leave that up to you

CTS (Chidori True Spear) Sasuke.
His awakening is really useful against giant awakenings such as Susanoo and the 8 tails. His down combo causes SB (smash back) and the cool thing about this combo is that if you stop before the last hit (where you jump over the opponent and shoot a fireball) and press triangle/Y twice, you can cancel your combo into a ninja move, then cancel again into your Ultimate Jutsu. The second-before-last hit of your down combo leaves your opponent stunned for a few seconds, so he won't be able to guard from it. He can do something that his Susanoo counterpart cannot do; he can actually throw three chakra shuriken in midair in a row without touching the ground. This is useful against Masked Man spammers, as it helps you dodge their dash and paper bomb combo. His ninja tools are pretty good, too. His down item increases his speed and your opponent might not react to your chakra dashes if you have this equipped. His left item is a tag that lowers your opponents speed. This is great for when your opponent is out of subs and is trying to run away. His right item is kunai rain which covers you when you try to get in close. Finally, his up item is his curse mark which increases your offense. Personally, if you're going to awaken against someone, I recommend equipping his down and up items because it increases the effectiveness of your awakening. One more thing, his recommended supports are Kimimaro and Anko. These two can save you when you're trapped in a combo so that you don't have to use up a sub. Kimimaro can also set you up for charged up Dragon Flames, your jutsu, or your air combo. Anko can, too. So what do you think, Akatsuki_Fighter?

I forgot to mention that when you finish a combo with your enemy blocking, instead of being vulnerable you can cancel into a jump and then follow up with an air attack to catch the enemy off guard. And even if the enemy blocks the air combo as well, when you land you can start your combo over again.
This strategy basically works with every character in my opinion. By the way when you cancel your attacks into jumps it is called an NMC, which is short for Ninja Move Cancel.
