The statue takes up space. Statues count as an angel/demon, but they cannot steer the boat.

Yes, they do. The statue can kill or be killed.

Ok, I think I've figured it out. This is assuming #1) The statues can survive on their own. #2) You need an extended time together to kill something (i.e. human won't be killed if they leave the boat and the devil and archangel get on at the same time).

Here goes:
-Human and God go across, God comes back.
-God and Angel Statue travel across, God and Human come back.
-Angel and Archangel travel across, Archangel comes back.
-Archangel and Devil travel across, Devil comes back.
-Devil and Demon travel across, Demon comes back.
-Demon and Demon statue travel across, Devil and Archangel come back.
-God and Human travel across, Human comes back. (I'm assuming human won't be killed when he gets off and Archangel and Devil get on in between this and the next step).
-Archangel and Devil travel across, God comes back.
-Human and God travel across. Done.
