Rock Lee vs Chad

How does taking down a P. Espada compare to inflicting major damage to Pre-Timeskip Chunin Exam Arc Gaara?
Because Chad's pretty durable and his blows (El Directo) will most certainly one-shot Lee, where Lee has to rely on his Lotus attacks to take down Chad. As far as speed goes, Lee will be speedblitzing but he won't maintain that speed forever against someone who can keep up with a Sonido user.

PTS Gaara really isn't low tier, or Kimimaro (who Lee also blitzed) at least in PTS. Bee has blitzed Sasuke and Kisame but he's not in this debate so let's keep him out of it.

Reacting is pointless if your body isn't fast enough to counter. A lot of Bleach characters have actually proved that.

Younger PTS Gaara? He kind of is. Base Lee is about average jonin speed. I'm saying this because people like Kakashi were impressed with his speed but didn't have a problem following him. Lee never blitzed Kimi once. Kimi casually reacted to him. Bee never blitzed Sasuke except for a blindside after the tsukuyomi. Kisame wasn't necessarily blitzed because he still kinda blocked with Samehada and could analyze the bijuu chakra being sucked up. Just trying to make a point.

You'd think he would have yet he has shown no signs of improvement so far. I don't read bleach anymore so I wasnt sure if Chad had improved or not

I meant he should be able to counter, not just react. And I just re-read the fight. Chad did react and counter to that dudes Sonido. Pretty casually if i might add. Eventually Chad outsped him

And for the record chad did blitz gaitenbaine just watch the fight dont go straight denying some of chads best feats.

And now that i myself rewatched the fight with that speed there is no way rock lee can win. Infact chad was disappearing and re-appearing in the same fashion rock lee did... only in mid air.

I just read the fight again in the manga. Gaintenbaine actually only tried to blitz him once and Chad reacted and blocked his kick. You were right and I was wrong about Chad reacting to sonido. However, as for Chad blitzing him, if you're talking about the part where Chad punched him and made the wall behind him crack in the shape of a skull, that wasn't a blitz. If you look again Gaintenbaine actually got one last attack in despite it failing. If you're talking about another part of the fight then you're gonna have to point it out to me because I didn't notice it.

Chad also wasn't disappearing in reappearing in mid air, at least from what I've noticed. And Lee should still be faster than the guy Chad fought when he removes his weights and opens the 5th gate. I mean compared to Gaintenbaine, Gated Lee was far more destructive. He made the ground crumble and made a huge shockwave just by moving in the 4th gate alone. Even Kakashi said he was fast and not even his Sharingan could track him. For a moment everyone lost sight of him. Then came the ping-pong beatup which is a far faster showing of what Gaintenbaine demonstrated.

There is no way Chad is surviving Hidden Lotus.

Hidden Lotus may be strong and fast, but most people seem to be forgetting that Bleach characters are mostly leagues above the Naruto characters in terms of durability and destructive power. And since Chad is considered a power character even in Bleach(and by definition power characters are usually ones that can take damage and then dish out a ton of their own), Lee probably wouldn't be able to do more then knock him back with the Lotus.

Destructive power is pointless if you can't hit your opponent. In this case, Lee is not only faster than him in gates, but can also avoid all of Chad's attacks and Chad can't possibly track his movements.

Change tank to withstand and the results should be the same. Also chad isn't exactly slow. He should be able to fire off a round or two. Not enough has been shown of Lee to say he has significant abilities. Though you can argue he does match Gai movements.

He is slow compared to Lee in gates. Although I'll be fair and say Lee needs to open the gates to even have a chance of winning. Gai isn't in this battle so we shouldn't mention him.

The thing is though, Chad's El Directo attacks are massive. Lee couldn't dodge one of those and open the Gates at the same time. Unless Lee has a feat of opening the Gates on the move that I missed, this fight ends pretty quickly.

Gai is the only thing you can compare Lee with. Lee has absolutely shown no real noteworthy improvements in the manga. Chad may be slower but he is fast enough to react against speed techniques like sonido that give off a gate like speed. Also gates is meaningless if Lee cant produce enough power to put down Chad with.

Completely two completely different scenarios here bud. Nnitora shouldn't even be compared to Lee, seeing as that he was able to hold his own against Kenpachi.

Yes, Vivi, it does. He can't do it instantly.He needs a few second at least.And those few seconds could be used by Chad to one shot Lee.
