Knowing Kishi, I have reasonable doubts about Shika-Ino deaths.
We thought Hinata was dead for HOW long???
And in most typical cases of important deaths-by-murder it gets dragged and/or made openly obvious.
Like when Jiraiya died, he drowned, aka "can't get away by being unconscious".
Not this case, sure, but since we DIDN'T see them being vaporised...
It's a 1% chance - they WEREN'T.
And I'm NOT joking.
But even if they were (yes, 99%), well, not the first people to die on Naruto - at least these went down like true HEROES (and not VICTIMS of stupid circumstances).

Wow pretty good chapter there. Except for the fact that everyone here called the waste of a chapter 612 was when the Juubi just casually broke free on the first page. But at least this chapter had real consequences.

And the Juubi now looks like the silhouette from before. Let's see what happens.

Shikaku is one of my favorite characters, so the impact of his death is more signifigant. Having said that, however, I think they'll somehow survive.

► Remember the Raikage's aide that can teleport things and/or people? They'll likely be transported somewhere and be on the edge of death, but survive.

the chapter sucked. it felt like 3 pages. who cares if someone died? thats such a dumb reason to think its a good chapter but whatever. altho i guess its a nice twist if they used the transporter thing to get most of them to safety other than shikaku's father. man if they keep having chapters like this its going to be another couple months for this battle to finish.

good point bazk, even though shikaku is an awesome character his relevance to the ninja world politics so to say is not that much... he didnt have much of an impact in the world. but still a dope character. im glad that someone was wiped out so easily though (but kishi has done this before like many manga writers, even stating that the characters are dead with narrative text, but they somehow still end up being alive). obviously this is making shikamaru and kakashi much more relevant characters (because shikaku wanted to be directly connected to kakashi to ask about the previous battles, and shikamaru being his son, its going to spark a fire) which i like. im sure shikamaru is going to come up with some way to dramatically increase naruto's power. in my opinion naruto is the only chance against the juubi, sasuke wouldnt be able to do jack (but we all know itachi could roll through and wipe them all off the map ^_^, thats why obito had to make sure he died. if itachi and minato were together here, this whole thing would already be over)

Loved this chapter and it's opened up so much scope for Shikamaru and Ino to do something cool XD not that Ino hasn't already. I hope Naruto doesn't go rage mode and actually listens to Shika XD

There's no way the Shinobi alliance should be able to stop that thing. In the end, It should be Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, and Obito vs Madara and the Juubi.

I think it is an imcomplete form, notice how "thin" it looks. Remember it doesn't have all the Kurama or eight tails in him, no sexual pun intended.

I was half expecting the final target to be Konoha, but oh well.

Personally I don't really like the Juubi's new form it is more weird than scary.

Naruto has apparently dislocated his shoulder... on the scale of injuries portrayed in fiction that might as well be a paper cut. I've seen way to many stories where that happens only for the hero to pop it right back in and continue fighting like it never happened.

What do you bet Shikaku's brilliant plan will be a "everyone give Naruto your strength" type thing, with Naruto forming the Shinobi Alliance Spirit Bijuu Bomb. Ever since the Pain arc, Kishi seems to think that teamwork should consist of everyone standing around like cheerleaders while the hero of the story does all the heavy lifting.

I still don't think any of the Konoha 11 are in any danger of dieing. We've had far to many close calls in the past for him to suddenly decide to change that. Of course we don't even know for sure if Shikaku and Inoichi actually died since it occurred off panel in a location where there was somebody with teleportation powers. I would wager there is a 1 in 4 chance that they miraculously survived but won't be able to help any more.

I wonder how long before we start seeing Obito getting antsy about starting the Infinite Tsukyome. I think that will probably be where his major rift with Madara will form. With Madara being an Edo Tensei, he can dissappear if he feels to content with his life so the illusion paradise world could potentially send him back to the afterlife.
