Is Masashi Kishimoto a great manga artist/writer or not?

If anything I dislike the development for side characters.

Shino,Tenten,Kiba for example are as good as completely ignored and just to say, its far from a secret or anything that Shino is really popular and don't get me started on Tenten, her biggest developments are getting constantly sodomized.

I wouldn't say Kishi is a bad writer actually, the early arcs were actually quite good and characters got pretty decent development. If anything, I'd say Kishi has allowed outside influences to interfere with his original direction. Basically, I think he is making decisions based on what he and his editors/sponsors, etc think will make the most money rather than sticking to the initial plan.

Kishi claims he has known how the manga will end for a long time, and I don't actually doubt that because you can change parts and details without changing the outcome but I believe he is changing details based on outside influence. For instance, I am almost 100% convinced that Tobi was supposed to be someone else but the popularity of the Tobi is Obito theories caused him to change the plan because everyone thought it'd bring in more money.

As for the artwork, it's alright, I've seen better but I've seen much worse too.

Masashi Kishimoto espouses and defends a very bigoted group, he changed the motivations of his main antagonists from a group of dangerous terrorist with global ambitions into a bunch of maniacs led by two butthurt crybabies one of which was an emotional cripple who was possibly border line mentally retarded. Tobito's motivation is vain and petty- Kishimoto drowned the series in pro uchiha wank - has completely retconned the entire story to sate fanservice and his own personal hard on for Sasuke and Itachi. the guy has given very little character growth and the best example in his entire universe (Gaara) was done entirely by accident..when he realized he actually blundered his way into creating a more mature character that was better developed then his mains he turned the guy into a raging Oedipus complex. He's failed at every turn to keep consistency within his own universe and invented entire nations at random..

none of this is the mark of a good writer

Kishimoto is a hack..he had some talent this was evidence in the beginning he squandered it by the time of the time skip

well i dont think he is the best one out there, but i dont think he is bad at all since this is one of the biggest series for a long time he is doing something right, i dont like the predictible parts and the lack of deaths on important people and some more characther development wouldnt hurt, all and all i think he is pretty good tho

Yep. When Kishi and the Misses had their child, it (i wanna say encouraged but I dont) motivated him to make the Minato/Kushina story

Naruto's destiny was already set so all that destiny talk in the story and movies (i know non canon) were just...talk.

Only read a bit of Vinland and never read Bastard so I can't compare.Sorry.

Though what I CAN compare is Ryukishi vs Kishi.
Then again Ryukishi is hardly a fair comparison seein he must have a Doctor Title or something for integrating this perfectly into the story:



And don't me started on trying to solve Umineko.Was tried before, required 18 hours of video Material.
From Schrodingers cat, to Knox Rules, to Van Dines Rules, to Devils Proof, to Chessboard Logic, to countless Red Herrings to Illusions to Magic to symbolizations to see everything with love etc.
Heck, the final boss in the story isn't a character but the Author himself.=/

Naruto has made his own destiny. Everything was his own decision. He can still change if he wishes, but the fact that so many believe in him makes him strive for world peace and a better ninja world..

Kishi is pretty good but his manga chapters can get pretty annoying/predicatable at times. he still has a damn good story though
