He doesn't necessarily know, that's part of my point. As far as I'm aware, Naruto needs Tobi to attack in order to confirm when he is tangible, which means that Tobi has control of the situation.

After zetsu told him Sasuke won it switched to Obito

So then you're saying Tobi doesn't attack at all? Not only is that massively out of character for both, but if you want to debate about it then Naruto can just stand there as well until 5 minutes are up, then he destroys Tobi with Rasenshuriken.
