Naruto becoming the new Sage of six paths?

Ok, so lately I've been seeing some similarities between naruto and the rikkudou sennin and I'm really wondering if it could be that naruto will become the modern SO6P by the end of the manga? It could be Kishi just messing with our heads, or maybe it could be true...

1) Naruto's intent: Well the most obvious similarity between naruto and the sage was his will to help those around him, not just from his own village, but other villages too, as we saw in much of the anime and manga. The sage wanted the entire world to be at peace, and not just shinobi but the tailed beasts too. Naruto is striving for this same peace at the moment in the latest chapters, as he fights alongside the 5 great shinobi nations against what is seen to be pure evil intent. Naruto's personality allows him to change others' views and bring them away from the "darkness" as seen with Gaara in part 1 and kurama and nagato in part 2. We'll most likely see the same with sasuke, and possibly obito and madara.

2) Naruto's looks in bijuu mode: If you look closely, when naruto is in his tailed beast mode (not his general nine-tails chakra mode), he looks very similar to the sage of six paths' silhouette. There is a magatama around both the sage's neck and naruto's. Both naruto and the sage have two spikes in their hair resembling horns at the same spot. Naruto also wears what looks like the same style cloak as the sage. In bijuu mode, naruto also has 9 tail-like appendages on his cloak, which could signify the unity between all tailed beasts - naruto being the one to unify them all. Also, it's hard to know, but the sage of six paths looks like he has light-coloured hair (maybe blonde like Naruto's??)

3) For naruto to become the "modern" sage of six paths, yes he will need the rinnegan. But how could naruto get the rinnegan?? Well there is a theory floating around about how he may get it. Well first of all, how can someone be legible to use the rinnegan? Well, they need to have both parts of the sage of six paths inside them, namely uchiha and senju DNA. This was seen when Madara implanted Hashirama's cells into him and just before the end of his life awakened the rinnegan. But naruto? He hasn't got any part of the sage's DNA in him... or does he? Well, how did Nagato get the rinnegan? Nagato actually comes from the uzumaki clan (as seen by his red hair). The uzumaki clan are descendants of the senju clan, so naruto already has 1 part of the DNA. Now nagato didn't have any uchiha blood or DNA in him. So how was he able to use the rinnegan? Supposedly when Madara gave Nagato his rinnegan eyes, he was also transferring some uchiha DNA into him through the process. Now remember Itachi made naruto swallow his crow with shisui's eye? It was shown that itachi planned on using shisui's eye later to make sasuke protect konoha instead of destroying it, that was the reason for implanting it into Naruto. But who is to say there wasn't more to it? The fact that naruto was given shisui's eye in the first place could mean that Uchiha DNA was already stored in him. Itachi had vast knowledge of the Uchiha clans dojutsu as well its progression to rinnegan (when he found the secret scrolls in konoha), so there is no reason for Itachi not to know about this uchiha/senju combination, and could've given naruto some of the uchiha DNA for this purpose. Itachi did show a lot of trust in naruto, and could well have entrusted the peace of the world to him via this process. When itachi was later revived, he stopped the edo tensei and said the rest was up to naruto.

4) All the tailed beasts acknowledge that naruto is the one the sage of six paths was talking about. Sage to all the young tailed beasts: "You will always be together, even if you are separated. And one day you will become one... with different names... in different forms than you exist now. And unlike when you were within me, you will be led down the right path. When the time comes for you to know what true power is....". As kurama remembers this he says in his mind "It's been too long old man." The other tailed beasts then agree that naruto was the one the sage was talking about. They all proceed to give naruto some of their chakra, whether just for the battle or for another purpose is still unknown.

5) The trust people have in Naruto: Naruto was entrusted to find world peace by Jiraiya, Minato, Konan and Nagato. This is part of the Naruto story. It plays too large a role in the story for it to be discarded. I can see Naruto becoming the "modern" sage and restoring peace to the war-torn world, just like he was entrusted with.

6) And finally, naruto mastered sage mode, rasengan, upgraded the rasengan to rasen-shuriken. All feats that his predecessors couldn't finish. Jiraiya couldn't fully master sage mode (he still looked a bit like a frog). Minato couldn't figure out how to upgrade rasengan, in fact he thought it was virtually impossible to do since it requires the individual to do several things at once, which is like looking in three directions at once.. Naruto mastered controlling Kurama, unlike previous jinchuuriki (at least I think.. Mito was able to control Kurama but I don't think she had the same relationship as naruto has with him. This relationship led to bijuu mode).

So what are your opinions on this?? Could it be that naruto's dream of becoming hokage will instead end up with naruto being like a kage of the entire shinobi world? Or could it be that Kishi is just mind-f***ing us? Let me know. This topic needs a bit of a debate.

I think naruto has just as much a chance as nagato. They're both from the uzumaki clan, and have both been interfered with by an uchiha. Even madara or obito might give him the rinnegan later if their minds are changed about how to bring peace to the world. We've seen naruto change people's opinions numerous times throughout the story, why couldn't it happen again? Also, when naruto went to Mount Myoboku to train he was considered the child of prophecy by the great toad sage. Perhaps an indicator of whats to come, or maybe the fight between pain and naruto was what the great sage toad was talking about

Rinnegan no, Juubi host no. But he'll figure enough out about creation of all things to split the juubi back into the other bijuu which won't be bound by the Mazo or the Uchihas anymore.

I hope he's able to control Juubi with Sage Mode. connect to the beast's conscience somehow! The nature connection they have may be stronger than that rinnegan link OR???

Because I don't believe naruto will ever get the rinnegan, even if he had the oppourtunity...and I'm pretty sure you need the rinnegan to become the next sage.

Taking the rinnegan is something I don't naruto would want to do. I think naruto would consider that cheating.

Better luck next generation, in the naruto world I'm guessing now that nagato's dead whoever has the chance to be the next sage would've been recently born.

Hmm, for naruto to be able to split the juubi back into the other bijuu, wouldn't he need the rinnegan just like the SO6P?

Interesting theory. Although I haven't heard anything about sage mode allowing people to control beasts. But then again we know little about the juubi as well. I'm also wondering if Madara or Obito alone could control the Juubi, and if not, once one of them gets killed, the link might be weakened. Naruto might even get to talk to the juubi just like the other bijuu, who knows?

Because I don't believe naruto will ever get the rinnegan, even if he had the oppourtunity...and I'm pretty sure you need the rinnegan to become the next sage.

Possibly, if offered he might refuse. Keep in mind naruto's objective though. He doesn't hesitate to control the kyuubi's power, and if it will help bring peace to the world, he may take the rinnegan too.

Taking the rinnegan is something I don't naruto would want to do. I think naruto would consider that cheating.

Again like I said above, naruto controlled the kyuubi's power, and learned sage mode. If he is convinced later that he is the next saviour of the world, he may take the rinnegan too (and perhaps unseal the kyuubi from him, to allow the bijuu to live peacefully).

There's no reason to think that it's a rinnegan ability. It seems to be a form of manipulation yin and yang chakra that only the sage had the ability to do.

And the reason I think this is because I don't think we'll be left with a work where there's the Juubi and only Kurama and Gyuuki. It will either be all in the Juubi or split back into the 9.

Yes I agree, it's either juubi or the 9 bijuu again, and I'd say it'll be tipped in favour of the 9 bijuu since the juubi was pure hate back in the time of the sage of six paths. And I can only see this manga ending in peace :P I think Yin chakra is something similar to genjutsu, I'm not sure.. so maybe it's not a rinnegan technique, but a sharingan one

maybe thats what he meant by a narusasu ending for naruto...
