Yeah but it really comes down to their sheilds
The hoplite's sheild is more manouverable and he can ram with it. Sheild is more than capable of breaking bones and collapsing lungs |

better training, better equipment and depending on the era vastly more experience

If this said Spartan I would've voted for that, but legionnaire because I barely know anything about hoplites and the legionnaire equip seems better
