Dragon Style: Rematch No Jutsu!!

OK I already know that this fight already happened, but I didn't like how that fight went down. I didn't like how suddenly Azula had to have a mental breakdown and get way off her game.

Now here is the deal, it's in the same place it was last, during sozen's comet only this time there is no Katara and Azula is not of her game because she had a mental breakdown.

Zuko was shown to be of equal or greater fire bending abilities at that point. He can always deflect the lightning back at her this time.

I have to disagree only because it was shown that while she was on her game the only way Zuko could match up to her was while he was fighting with someone else.

Plus he even said to Katara once he realized that she was mentally off her game that he might be able to take her on his own and he even admitted to his uncle that he wouldn't be able to take Azula alone.

Of course Azual wins this time. Zuko never beat her before so why is now going to be different. Azual has more and better battle feats. No way Zuko could win if she was sane

lol Azula has never been sane remember "She is crazy and needs to go down" now if we are talking about calm of mind then yes she would have won and I personally think that it was bull how suddenly now she cares that her mother loved Zuko more than her (Even though she loved them both equally)

Her mom sided with Zuko, though. SO that would lead to her believe her mother didn't love her as much. Also she was raised by a power hungry father.
She was going mental when because she was had been betrayed by her only friends and could tell Ozai was thinking she was crazy. That all built up and led to her mother.

Back to topic:
Azula wins. When she's not batpoop crazy she is a very good strategist and would be able to take any openings and hurt Zuko.

It can go either way if played correctly. Zuko is the weaker bender and fighter but by the end of the series he's calmer and more confident with his bending. He no longer fights by rage and so he can think through things in battle. Even if this is a rematch I'm assuming BG standards so Azula doesn't know Zuko can redirect lightning. He can bait her into using it, and fire it back which would create an opening for him to win. Of course, this begs the question can he bait Azula, and that just comes down to personal opinion and circumstances. This is one of those threads that needs a tie option.

Azula seemed to be at a higher level. Aside from Zuko lightning trick she seemed stronger. But not by much.

As long as azula doesnt have her mental breakdown she roasts zuko as seen multiple times in the series.

Unlikely Zuko is a terrible bluffer and Azula would see right through him, she knows how to push his buttons while he in turn can seem to push any of hers.

since this is the same zuko from sozin's commet,zuko wins. There is no way aula would win this because of zuko's new flames. His flames were standing up to azula's blue flames. Also,her lightning won't do anything because zuko can redirect it. I don't recall azula seeing him do it etheir.

Zuko doesn't have to bluff just pressure her into using lightning. Make it seem like the fight is even or like he has a trump card. By the end of the series that's definitely something he's capable of, and he's not some child so "pushing his buttons" won't work like it used to. Lightning is a common weapon of both Azula and Ozai when they want to demonstrate superiority over their opponents, so if Azula sees that Zuko can keep up her nature will be to look for a way to beat him down.

^the thing is zuko as we last saw still couldnt keep up with an calm azula , i mean mental breakdown azula even outsmarted him when he tried to bait lightning so he still has no chance against a calm level headed azula.


Blue fire is enough to take him down. And shes superior in both bending and hand to hand combat.

Zuko as we last saw him has no chance against any version of azula. She can do everything he does , better.

Not really, you see with a calm Azula, Zuko wouldn't be able to bait her because remember his big plan for baiting her while she had her meltdown was telling her that he could send her lightning right back at her which wouldn't work against her since she is what we would consider sane.

This is what would happen, he'd try to bait her by saying he can redirect it hoping that she would try to prove him wrong, but she in return would tell him that he's not worth the effort then Zuko would get mad and be baited by Azula instead.

Currently Azula knows that Zuko can redirect lighting.
In their final battle when Zuko taunted her lighing she was not surprise that she could do so
No tie needed Azula is too smart to be baited not even Anng could do it

All three of you were addressing a scenario in which there was a game changing variable, Katara's presence created a vulnerability for Zuko. That's the only reason Azula attacked Katara. We have no clue what she would have done if Katara wasn't present, for all we know in her unbalanced state she could've hurled it right at him.

We can't really know exactly how this fight will occur with a calm, balanced Zuko who understands the true origins of firebending versus a calm, merciless Azula with her blue flames. By the end of the series I'm not sure if there is a large enough gap between them for Azula to just win with fire and thus she would need lightning for the power bonus but it won't work. This is why I say the results of this fight would be circumstantial, because these two characters are so close in power.

Azula may be the better fighter and more powerful but the margin is nowhere near as large as it used to be, and Zuko lacks his previous weakness, not to mention he had the better master. It's not just about raw power and ability here, you are all underestimating the prince.
