Even if she attempted to stay in that fake world, the reality of her vampire blood would have caught up with her. She easily would have put the entire school, including zero, in danger by staying just for the selfish reason of her own happiness.

Plus, like you said, that happiness was fake. It could never make her truely happy. This is revealed through the way she attempts to remember when haunted by those nightmares...She could have just brushed her past aside and continued living her life without worrying about it, but instead she chose to try and remember. So she would never have been happy attempting to go on living her normal life, now that she knew reality.

Yes, that means she's a pureblooded vampire. Who thinks she should have kept her normal human life? I think she should have kept living in the fake happiness Kaname gave her. Zero really wanted that.
