Naruto Shippuden Episode 290 Discussion

Nothing to discuss about - another shitty filler. Naruto anime quality just going down in each episode and it is not likely that someone is going to do anything about it. Manga getting shorter every time too. Firstly there were 23-26 pages of true manga, now from 19 pages 3-4 is starting plus 3-4 eding pages where you can find just some posters or other sh... you know what. If you can't finish the story in normal matter then maybe sell author rights for someone else who could do it. Because there is nothing stuning to watch, and very less to read.

What the heck did they do to Kabuto's appearance, he just flat out looks weird in this.

Even if this is filler I don't like that it has Kabuto busting out Edo Tensei so casually like this. Plus that weird stuff about creating special regenerative snakes seems kind of weird.

The only thing I liked about the episode was the brief segment that showed Kabuto's ET summons attacking that town. Showing how powerless small villages would be against super powered ninja's is something that doesn't get shown in action often enough. The only time it even gets hinted at is with the aftermath of burned out abandoned towns.

Judging from the fact that they are titling the episode with a subtitle and calling it "Episode 1" I'm guessing this will be a fairly long filler arc.

I kinda disagree I think there using a new animation and I think it looked great. I didnt even pay attention to the episode I just really loved the action.

This actually looks like a very good filler, a lot of action. If they have to make filler episodes, I'm glad they're at least good.

I'm lost at when captain yamato came back and isn't in like that block thing i'm really lost. pretty sure I have watched every episode,and he was like dead I thought and now he is just back in the action... Naruto doesn't have the new look.... was 290 a flash back of a movie or am i just really lost

Couldin't focus when you can't take Hidan seriously since hes
flipping and swinging more then his sickle -_-

Why was he reanimated differently? and why did he have to be naked? I'm sure some fangirls enjoyed it though.

Its 6 episodes long. Too bad they won't air all 6 in one day like was rumored.

It most likely takes place before they got to the turtle island since Kabuto doesin't look the way he did during that arc and Yamato is with them.

I was actually somewhat impressed with this filler episode. The style was nicely animated, although a little different. As to why Hidan was brought back so different, I think it was because, you know, he's somewhat immortal right? (I could be wrong, I never really did understand what was up with him.) And on top of that his body was blown to bits. It only makes sense he had to be regenerated.

What I really liked about this episode was actually those two random child characters. It's not that common we get to look into the life of non-shinobi, and it's something I'd want to know more about. I like how they tied the drawing from the beginning into it. However, it was still somewhat misplaced, and I'm not entirely sure if that was the conclusion or if we'll see those filler characters again later in the filler arc because it was somewhat unclear.

I have to agree, Kabuto's sudden appearance change has left me confused. It looks nice in it's own way, but it's just not Kabuto. His hair is not curly D:<

And as to where in the timeline this takes place, I'd guess just before the shinobi war began? Could't have been that far back because Kabuto looks a bit snakey.

^ Its definitely before the Turtle island since Yamato is still with them.

The children appear in the next episode as well according to the preview.

Kabuto had to reanimate Hidan differently cuz his body was blown to bits. If he was reanimated the regular way then he would be in bits n pieces

That is why Nagato still has a broken leg

Kabuto created some sort of regenrating snakes combined with the water in a special way to bring back Hidan cuz he is special

Well I didn't like this ep one bit what about the war!?
The battles tend to get some what boring and I havent seen any Naruto or Sasuke action in ages come on!

Its turning like Bleach jumping to a next story for no reson!!!

I thought this was a great filler, especially in comparison to the two that came before it. Good amount of stylish action, beautiful animation, and solid pacing. I thought the shift between the action heavy first part and heartfelt second part was very well done. Getting to see the conflict play out through the eyes of the two children was a welcome change of pace. This is one filler mini-arc I wouldn't mind having to sit through (though the rumored 6 episodes is a bit long).

Filler episodes are non canon episodes that never occured in the manga. They use them mostly to let the Manga go on a little further so that they can keep a steady stream of episodes aired weekly.

^ Yeah, not a lot of people like them. Some are bearable if we wanna see the fights that weren't shown in the manga though.

In this case, I could care less. Kabuto looks weird, I hate how he's spamming Reanimation at such a scale like it was nothing and then we still don't even know what those kids have to do with the filler arc.
