Because the story is broken.

Had Kishi not tried to milk the series for all the cash he can make and not made a time skip series, he wouldn't have had to make a series full of asspulls and plot wholes.

they should have done that after naruto defeated pain and sasuke "defeated" itachi. that would have been a perfect time for everyone to regroup, konoha to rebuild, and the akatsuki to consolidate their power.

gotta disagree b/c pain wasn't 100% defeated .. without him no1 would b alove
and about itachi e didnt fought his bro with full power ( u saw his power lately )
and forget to mention that they didnt get rid of the real prob ( which was Tobi b4 Madara's appearance )
so it will b better to see him a great Hokage as the only one who united the world again and the greatest kage ever

at the time, everyone thought that pain was the real leader of the akatsuki, so after naruto convinced nagato to revive all the people from konoha and naruto was celebrated as a hero it'd be a good time to take a break there.

on the sasuke front, he had just dispatched orochimaru, and like i said "defeated" itachi. it was also time for him to take a break and recover from that.

at that point the akatsuki could have come up with a new plan (since they probably weren't expecting for nagato to "betray" them). then it would be revealed that tobi was the real leader of the akatsuki, and all the other villages would have moved against him.

Well, if Kishi is going to end the series without developing Konoha 11 properly like he did with the power-houses of Naruto, Kakashi and Sasuke (not to mention Tobi or Madara) it will be a shame and to be honest, I will regret I have read this manga.

I don't like at all what Kishi has been doing with this manga lately...

not ending changing there are obviously still gonna be bitter powerful ninja after this war concludes and Naruto will obviously be the focal point of that bitterness I expect a long filler arc with naruto being issued a good part of security even as hokage possibly and structuring his new teams with his comrades as the focal point of that defense

I wouldn't like such a thing at all. Naruto by then would be absurdly strong and should be able to steamroll the opposition all by himself. Of course the villains could be made even strong but then he'll be getting into absurd levels of power and might as well do away with whatever remains of the theme of ninjas.

Hopefully the manga will continue for about two more years.

maaybbee when this arc is over Naruto WONT be made hokage. Yeah sure thats his dream and kudos to him for believing in it, but i had a dream too... THAT TOBI WASNT OBITO.. but hey! we all suspected it to happen and believed it so much that we thought it was too obvious and picked other characters to be tobi.. could happen with Naruto and being hokage.... JUST SAYIN !

but in all seriousness, i think its going to end soooonish and soon not being like 30 more chapters.. i mean more than that, but hard to say. we have alot of unclosed doors and loose strings.

EG- Where is Sasuke -.- and suigetsu and juugo with the scroll
- The rest of the war
- Rin -_____-
- Sasuke and Narutos absolutley EPIC battle than i cannot wait for and it better be GOODD !!
- Yamato? is he even alive oorrrrr ? ...

-The hooraying over the win OR loss (possible) of the war

annndd all the hooo haaa after the war and hokage and bla bla bla ((:i would love naruto to live on for another season (time skip perhaps?) but in all honety im sad to say it might actually get boring and kill the storyline... but oh well we will have to see what happens ! Maybe theres a big twist somewhere !! (((:
