My differing opinion.

I don't think it's about senju stamina resisting the stamina drain of the eye. I think there is no drain at all. And the eye will not lose sight.

Nagato used Madara's eyes to animate and give the paths jutsu powers vs Konoha and however many fights before that.

I think it's the DNA link that reconnects the power of the Uchiha eyes with the senju body, which restrengthens the bloodline back many generations and much closer to the sons of the 6 paths. The elder son had the rinnegan at a young age (flashback/story, I know). His kids, half non rikudo descendants, likely had weakened the bloodline to the sharingan. Or maybe it was within a couple generations that the eyes devolved to the sharingan.

I imagine that the elder son had no drain and no blindness.

The reason Uchiha didn't kill Senju to try to power-up (back) to the rinnegan and why no evil Senju tried to kill Uchiha, is they didn't realize the science. Madara was likely the one to rediscover the relationship.

No kidding, you make it sound like a sharingan evolved into a rinnegan won't drain a non uchiha or non senju, unlike MS and kakashi. You are taking on a new assumption of change that isn't (yet) supported in the story. Putting Rinnegan in caps doesn't mean I have to adopt your theory. If anything, Madara choosing a Uzumaki makes it more likely that the drain would be there for a non Uchiha/Uzumaki/Senju.

My point is that other posters suggested that the side effects are lessened. That's why I stated that my opinion differed. I do realize the thread title is more similar to what I am saying, but you also add that "...specifically hashirama's cells." Some may believe it is specifically to Hashirama, Kalmeast just created a thread about moukaton as the G-K of the juubi and Rikudo suppressing it. I'm saying general senju DNA. General enough to pass to uzumakis. We do know that, and that it isn't specifc to Hashirama cells.

I don't follow this point either. He was surprised to get the rinnegan, after he had given up on change, decades later. Then he implanted the eyes in Nagato. the eyes were affected by senju DNA, and he found a relative to senju, to carry on the eyes. he didn't leave them to a clone either. Are you agreeing with me? using caps for "HE," is that sarcasm by contradicting me giving madara credit, and you saying HE knew nothing? HE experimented, HE gave up, HE discovered, then HE knew. That's all.

Don't need Senju DNA to be protected from side effects. Just turn your MS into EMS and then you're set. No Senju cells required.

Your not getting it. Don't know if you have read my post. But since Uchiha has part DNA from the elder son, by having full power of Senju DNA it would allow the Uchiha to have full power and control of their Sharingan. Which would probably prevent them from going blind.

Now we just have to figure out who might be the better master of the sharingan/rinnegan. A senju/Uzumaki with Uchiha eyes, or a Uchiha with Senju/Uzumaki DNA. And did madara inject the DNA into his body, or into the eye itself?
