Spoiler Why didn't they ever show Pain use any of his element

OK so on his Wiki is says he can use all five, but on the episode I watched Jiraya basically made big deal out of the fact that Nagato could use Earth Style, Water Style and fire Style, but they never showed him use any of them.

Do you think they should have showed him use those elements at least once, because from what I am seeing, they are not even going show him use them when he comes back as an edo.

So my question is, do you think it was pointless for them to even mention that Nagato could use elements, or do you think that they should just some how show him using them?

Now I know that they showed him using the elements as a kid, but I mean to actually fight people so that we can see it or did he actually use the elements already and I just wasn't paying attention?

^ In the Anime he used Water Style against Naruto in his 6 tailed form iirc.

The rinnegan just grants the user the capability to use all 5 elements. *except KG's*
I'm sure they still have to learn to use them though.

It was shown him using few jutsu, like when Jiraiya trained them, I think all he needed were Rinnegan jutsu.

IMO-elemental jutsu are weak ... they do not usually kill people (like water has not killed anyone)

They just added that to show how he was like the SO6P

plus with shiri tensi he did not need much else

No I dont think its useful for Nagato himself because there is hidden detail that should be mentioned: When Tobi first met Nagato he told him that he is the one who will correctly lead the one with the Rinnegan. In this order its highly possible Tobi was like Nagato's second sensei and for the rest of his life he trained him to use the powers of the rinnegan.. you know to be more skilled. Tobi quote: "When you are able to master the real power of the rinnegan your world will be completed.". Because eventually Tobi will need a skilled Rinnegan user to fulfill his plans. So I think Tobi trained Nagato how to use Shinra Tensei, Bansho Tenin and as we know Nagato was not very smart, very persuadable and managedable. So he forgot about the 5 elements and dreamed about how his special eye powers (not his 5 elements skills) will change the world so in a very religious way he used his powers. Just listen to how his voice is when he says: Shinra Tensei. It is like a divine voice although its Yahiko's. However it would have been useful for him to used them at some past moment but he didnt. so that was in his disadvantage. Cheers. !

Well, he can use them, he has Rinnegan, but basic Rinne jutsus are usually haxx enough to deal with problems.

When Nagato had the 6 paths, it wasn't easy to control them all so they each could effectively wield one technique so he went with the 6 path techniques instead of using elemental styles.

This makes sense. After all, each path was limited in jutsu use. Likely as nagato's limit. Also, the paths had jutsues that were good as a way to control the situation.

Deva - push and pull opponents

Asura- area of attack missels mean opponents must dodge wide

Animal path- summons to create more attacks the opponent has to follow

Preta- absorb jutsu, causing opponent to alter strategy, and protect the
path #s advantage

Naraka- bring back fallen paths with king of hell.

Human- doesn't go with rest for controlling, but for removing soul and reading mind and interrogation of those captured.

Typical elemental jutsues have been seen before and can be countered by strategy or defeated by a different element.

Certain people don't need elements. Some of the seven swordsman of the mist didn't use any as Edo's. Even naruto till he learned his wind does he use it now no.even tsunade she has crazy strength. But elements can make u weak .obito realy used his fire style one he got his ms. I think watching Nagato use elements with a rinny would had been an insult to his powers. Don't u guys agree

The show evolved too quickly after change of chakra nature and change of chakra shape were introduced. It was formerly amazing to have two or more, but now they're so far gone that elements don't even matter.

They were too busy showing the abilities of the paths rather than the rest of the abilities gained with the Rinnegan. Anything to shove in more power.

DrKage and paradigm1977 are on the right track. Each Pain body or Path can only use one of the special Rinnegan Jutsu (ST, Animal Summons, Soul Suck, etc.). Nagato himself could use all of the elements, but because his motility was limited after the confrontation with Hanzo he avoided direct confrontation and had his Paths do all of his fighting for him. As to why he didn't show any elemental abilities during the war-the fight he was involved in was really short and he was being controlled so naturally Kabuto made him use the abilities he's famous for and which are on average much stronger than elemental techniques.
