I really have no idea if she is as influential or not. Really the series feels like its reaching, meaning I believe a bad decision was made in terms of making Obito into Tobi, and then Kishi had to rush to figure out just how to explain that.

I won't give the man grief for that, but I believe that set off a chain of events that went down the line a bit and took some things for granted that should not have been. I think Tobi should not have been Obito, and something more interesting should have come about (like Tobi being a Senju). I honestly am not sure HOW he will work Orochimaru in either, and I find it absurd that Madara surgically implanted Nagato with his eyes when he was a young kid.

However, all that stemmed from one single decision. I believe that without Obito being Tobi, and with Tobi actually being someone different we'd have seen some more interesting development, even, potentially, to dissent from within the Senju/Uzumaki. It would have given him more freedom to do more things, and not try to force these situations together...but like I said, its 1 bad decision (major) that did this....If his wife/gf has any influence on anything, it will be whether the people under the NaruHina or NaruSaku charge their house!

This is more likely, it was fan service gone wrong for the simple fact that it didn't make sense. Then trying to make it make sense he had to go backwards and do a few more things in an attempt to make it make sense. Sasuke being Tobi would have made more sense because he lost EVERYTHING...not some girl he had a crush...I'd bet even his wife was like..."hun, that's going to be a bad idea, I wouldn't" and he did it anyway!

Edit: it would have made more sense in terms of motive, and in comparison, not actually would have made sense :-p

if anything, Obito could be his wife's idea... think about how She's made him obsessed with "love"...yea, obito goes world-wide-crazy in the name of love for Rin... You think Kishi would have come up with something like that in Part 1 - when he was a lone-ranger?

my biggest thing with him using Obito and even Madara with Love was to make the point that perhaps the Uchiha weren't actually tied to the Elder son. I know this goes off topic a bit, but I made a theory a while back that said that what we were given in terms of relationships to RS are backwards! The Uchiha justify everything based on emotion, going through the series Madara and Obito buy more into love than they do necessarily strength. You hear Naruto through the entire series talk about the strength to change things (destiny, love/hate, poor treatment etc..) I really think it ends up being that a swap at the end (for some reason) and the whole story comes out about the relationships to the RS...but that is just my interpretations.

He's pretty straighforward nowadays. I don't wanna exhaust my creative intellect making theories that he'd never present anymore lol.

I am not sure anymore either. Its been a bit odd, that is for sure! I am hoping that Obito's odd change has more to do with the Hashirama clone attached to him, originating from the Gedo statue, which is the body of the Juubi. Remember, the Bijuu all have strong personalities, and someone with a weak personality as well as untrained will essentially not be in control.

Also, he made Tobi out to be this incredibly intelligent thinker the last time we saw Madara say something about one of his plans...I'd state something (hopefully) will be presented. Honestly though, I think some of these are fan service, folks like us read for the depth of creativity and connection, but there are others that just don't think like that, and perhaps he is appealing a bit to them now as well (people who don't discuss the series and just read it at face value).

Hopefully after some of this is explained, we'll get back to where the series was, I'd love to see Naruto actually be the next Sage, it'd be interesting if he was related to the elder son, and even more interesting if Madara and Nagato were actually related (it'd be interesting if Madara was somehow Nagato's uncle or something, it would explain a lot).
