Day 19: Favorite cp9
My favorite cp9 by just a sludge is kumadori. That crazy asswipe always cracks me up with his long winded speeches or how he keeps using tekkai and senpaku. The little cut scene he had with jambori when they cried.for his mom, still makes me snicker. The guy who came second wad Kaku. Everyone else in cp9 were inhuman and unfeeling inside and out. Yet kaku was not only the awkward comic relief, he was also genuinely sad about breaking his ties with water 7. That sort of sentimentalism in a group such as cp9 was something I missed the first time around, but it was kaku's defining moment. Too bad he died...

Day 29: Why/how did you start/watching One Piece
I remember when it first aired in Toonami after Naruto. I watched it because it looked interesting. I watched it all the way until the middle of Alabasta arc, where I lost interest. Then I started watching it again last year in subs, and now here I am o.o

Kaku never died. In fact, none of the CP9 did. I can't say the same for Spandam however...

Spanda's probably in a wheel chair if he's alive, but nothing was really said about cp9. Unlike crock who was said to be arrrsted, they never gave word on them afterwords. Nor did they show up at marineford, so its plausible to say the strawhats killed them.

Oda sometimes does chapter cover arcs, which is... pretty much what it says. In place of a illustration or something, he actually does a story, usually about what happens to a certain antagonist or side character after the Straw Hats'. For instance, how Crocodile was captured and transferred to Impel Down. With CP9's cover story arc, Oda had confirmed that they were alive and in fact, were planning on hunting down Spandam for his betrayal.

My answer is exactly what Vat is staying. The CP9 have a cover story on the covers of chapters 491-528.
Baroque Works has one from 359-413.

Seeing as that Bacon is currently limited to an outdated HTC for usage, then I'll just summarize what had happened to the CP9:
Yeah. Oda is JUST THAT GOOD.

Day 30: Why do you love One Piece?
There are many reasons I love One Piece. It has kept me interested since the first episode. It is the only manga, aside from The World God Only Knows, that I read every week. What do I like it about though? I love the story, it's so simple but it works so well because of the way Oda does it. He made it simple and that gave him a lot of room to work with. He definitely takes advantage of that. He's covered many interesting topics over the time, including slavery, deception, human experimentation, and other things. The characters are very well written. I've yet to see a character in One Piece that I didn't like in some way. Even Spandam, who I hate, I appreciate as a villain. The Straw Hats are all very interesting and they work well together. The characters aren't always predictable and that's nice too. The Marine-Pirate conflict is well written. His villains are well written and they vary greatly. I even liked Hody for what it's worth. They have their own plots, and reasons for doing things. I'm definitely fascinated to see what Doflamingo's big plot and reasoning is. I love that One Piece can be repetitive but still keep things fresh. The battles are great. The interactions are great. The comedy is great. The reactions are great. Everything about it is just great. As a person who loves backstory too, I definitely appreciate all the backstory Oda puts into his work. I loved learning about Nami's childhood especially. Him having characters return, such as the Impel Down arc where a lot of Baroque Agents returned is pretty awesome too. I'm seriously yet to find any story or backstory in it. I'm also definitely very interested to learn about the Void History. Finally, my favorite thing about One Piece is how it all unites together. Oda can do more than cover one story at a time. He can cover several stories and characters all at once. Even if it bores you sometimes, realize how much work it has to take up to keep up with all the things he keeps up with. The big thing though is not only that he keeps up with them. He keeps up with them and does it well. All in all, when it comes to One Piece, I love everything about it.

One Piece holds something dear to me. Now, let's look at it. Almost all of it's arcs follow the same formula. SHs land on an island. SHs explore. One SH may or may not meet the villain but underestimates him and either loses him or gets his/her ass kicked. More shenanigans with another character. Luffy beats main villain. Other SHs help out too. Possibly another crew member. This seems complex, but it happens a lot. I mean A LOT. With something as repetitive as this, why should I find it so great? Everything else is nigh perfect. All of the characters are interesting, with all of the main ones having a complex backstory. Oda can really suck you in with emotion and maybe make you shed a tear or two. Chopper's past and Nami' past made me do that. HELL, even Franky's past with Tom made me pretty gloomy. Besides backstory, there are many quirks to the characters. Luffy- Loves meat Zoro- Gets lost Usopp- Lying Sanji- Love of women and nosebleeds Nami- Buying a bunch of stuff and demanding cheap prices Chopper- Pretending not to like complements Robin- Dark humor Franky- SUUUUUUUUPAAAAAAAA! Brooke- Fascination with panties Besides that, the story is open to lost of things, as the world is set up amazingly. I also like how Oda set up the strength barrier, so he won't have to Kubo is way through everything and make more and more explosions to out-explosion the last uber-powerful character. Oda made it so that nobody will be passing WB's strength easily, and how the main protagonist isn't always uber strong. I could go on for hours about how genius this series is, with all of it's allusions, themes, and even takes on things like racism, slavery, and even mass homicide. It's a series that is unparalleled by any other. Oda is the greatest writer in modern culture. Period.
