Yahiko wasn't ignorant about Madara's abilities, he probably just expected something more than goobly garble talk like we've been getting lately.
Konan and Nagato? They were ignorant.
Yahiko also noticed that Tobito knew about the Rinnegan, which surprised him, he realized something was up with this guy, which is why he threatened him.
'nobody touches my Nagato!'
But Obito... really... display your power! Do something, Uchiha-like.
Instead he just repeated what Madara said, making absolutely no impact.

Everyone else, all he had to do was not get hit, scare some shinobi, zip a couple ANBU out of existence, and bam, he has the whole Shinobi world scared of him and thinking he's Madara... frankly, he had half of the fanbase thinking he was Madara too...

Display power to some extent, get fame and fortune.
Try to talk it out, get treated like a woman.

When Obito tried to speak with Naruto at the Kage summit, he got trounced by Yamato and Kakashi, and all he tried to do was explain his plans.
All of this flew right by Naruto, Kakashi ate it up like kibbles and bits, but that is a side affect of overdosing on Naruto's TnJ all of the time.
The only time Obito's TnJ really worked... was when he talked to Sasuke, period, that's the only time it worked.

But really, there wasn't even word of mouth to back squid head's claim. Madara was from a different age. And just showed up one day to talk to Nagato?

At least with Tobi he had the Akatsuki garb and warped into a room full of kage and threatened them.

Danzo may not have liked Minato but he clearly considered him capable, so it is not surprising Danzo believed Minato's words!!!

To be fair, Minato never told Naruto that Tobi was Madara, he just referred to him as a masked man. He asked Obito if he was Madara, because all of the circumstantial evidence pointed it to it (Madara was the only one who had summoned the Kyuubi before) and right after he said, "No that's impossible, Madara's dead."

On topic: As I wrote in the chapter discussion thread Yahiko became even more boss-he didn't believe any of Obito's BS for a second. As to why he fell into Hanzo's trap-that was part of the plot to show why Nagato turned bad. Yahiko's philosophy was that peace can be achieved if people come to understand one another (know the same pain). He wanted to take a step towards that dream by making an alliance with Hanzo. When this went south Nagato came to believe that Yahiko/Jiraiya were wrong and people will never come to understand each other unless you force them all to experience the same pain aka using the Bijuu to blow up a country in a Watchmanesque nuclear deterrence plan.

I'm guessing that Nagato and Konan really did believe that Obito was Madara after they got to know him better and learned about the stuff he knew (Madara told Obito a lot about the So6P, Rinnegan, etc.). He only referred to Obito as Tobi before he "died" because Pain was supposed to be seen as the leader by the rest of the Akatsuki and Nagato never refers to Obito as Madara in front of anyone but Konan.

I don't really think Yahiko owns all. There are many other good characters. But the story of the three is still a very good one.

Not really a boss moment..... any teenager would not have believed him! That is like a man in a mask saying he is santa clause! Obito gave ZERO proof that he was madara. Heck I would not even belive him! Obito just said his plan! The guy is wearing a mask! Why would he hide his face if he was Madra! Madara would have been more mean and used genjutsu

Meh- I didn't think it was all that cool that he didn't believe he was Madara (although he was a guy with a sharingan who knew about the Rinnegan). What I like is that he didn't give two f's about Obito's perfect world and knew that he was just trying to use them.
