NO WHITE ZETSU ARMY!! THIS IS BEFORE ZETSU GOT HIS UPGRADE FROM YAMATO!!!!
All other anime/manga feats for b/w/s-zetsu
THIS IS half black and half white zetsu

Mei has all anime/manga feats

With no people around mei is free to use her acid which will melt zetsu if he stays around too long.

Meis keikei genkai which also includes lava should easily overpower zetsus watered-down wood release.

Zetsu can keep his distance with using the roots from underground (Black Zetsu ability)

Mei can not dodge the roots forver and she has not displayed great speed/evading feats

I'm pretty sure that lava would thwart just about any attempt to use roots.

lava is on the slower side and it would cost a lot more chakra plus the roots are more supplementary than lava

I see no strain on Mei when she uses lava. As well as that, she lava has a lot more lasting power than the branches do. When they become ashes, the lava keeps moving. Zetsu is essentially unable to injure Mei now, mainly because there's a puddle of lava surrounding her, and he has no real long range moves.

Mei has a team of ninja and the roots are giving her trouble even with lava style

Zetsu can use his spores to attack mei above and Zetsu can attack from below while dodgin the attacks on the surface

I really have no idea why Mei was having so much trouble with Black Zetsu in the manga-it was stated he was using guerilla tactics though, so this is probably why the fight lasted so long. As BMC said, she can also use her mist without having to worry about melting teammates now. Zetsu spores take time to activate and Mei has knowledge on it (Black Zetsu implied that the tech could be stopped if the victim noticed they were affected by it).

Zetsu can go underground to avoid the mist and let the roots/spores take its course!

Zetsu can use a clone to make it look like he is defeated than attack from behind

Easy-the same way she stopped the Zetsu growing on her in the manga-melt them with acid mist.

I doubt that's something Zetsu would/could do-he's only been shown attacking with roots from above ground and even if he could, he wouldn't know where to attack her from if he's below ground.

Only Mei already knows about Zetsu's transformation ability and if he tries to attack her from the back he'll be melted by the mist.

Did you forget Zetsu is a sensor ninja? It is not hard to find your enemy when it is just one above ground! Zetsu can have one above ground and one under... or zetsu can just sense the ninja!

That is why Zetsu stays underground

Mei Terumi: Large amounts of chakra, can summon an acid cloud, can launch melted lava and Kage-level water techniques all around her.

Zetsu before Yamato's upgrades and without his army: No battle feats worth mentioning, only underground transportation as far as I know.

Mei wins.

Pretty sure Lava can burn through the ground (as long as it doesn't cool down which I'm sure Mei can control)

Considering Mei survived for what seems like a good while against Madara........I doubt Zetsu before his upgrade could do anything to her.

Zetsu doesin't have any noteworthy feats, and literally no attack that could set her back considerably. Mei just spits lava anywhere and Zetsu will be forced to avoid the attacks. From there Zetsu will most like have to get in close by Mayflying to her location and at close range he loses.

Zetsu can travel deep underground and move around at fast rates almost near Tobi's speed. Zetsu can attack underground with roots or spores
