After seeing when

Destroyed the leaf village with the kyuubi, surprising that he would have intentions to do that to his own former teacher, Minato. Especially trying to kill Naruto when he was a baby.

What do you guys think?

Not to mention his parents and entire extended family were also endangered (but maybe he ends up hating other Uchihas for some reason, since he helps Itachi massacre them).

That's another mystery I wanna know about.

Why did he do that? Probably was part of the plan for the genjutsu.

Let me widen the scope of the question here.

What on EARTH ties the Uchihas to nine tails? They aren't tied to all biju, but they are able to genjutsu Kurama in particular... Itachi's throne, Nine-tails himself, etc.

Obito knew the reason Kurama is weak to Uchihas.

Also, when he went to save Rin, even if Kakashi was technically leader, he didn't even know why the mists were there. All he knew was that Rin and Kakahsi were in danger, and the super strong Minato wasn't even helping. For all he knew, the war was going on, and Minato wasn't providing even minimal backup.

He just wanted to destroy Konoha (so it would be harder for them to recover and he would have more time), obtain the Kyubi and make the Infinite Tsukuyomi for a better world.
