Nazi Germany vs North Vietnam - Historical military comparison

Nazi Germany

Numbers: 18,200,000 (including militia, paramilitary and foreign volunteers)
Tactics: Blitzkrieg (sudden charge in massive numbers, using any weapons and vehicles available)
Terrain: Industrialized cities
Soldier weaponry: MP 40 submachine gun, KAR 98 bolt-action rifle/sniper rifle, Panzerschreck rocket launcher
Tanks: 25,762 or more (primarily Panzer IV medium tanks)
Aircraft: 2,000 to 4,000 - Some sources state tens of thousands (primarily Bf 109 propeller planes)

North Vietnam

Numbers: 400,000 to 1,000,000 soldiers, plus millions of volunteers and guerrilla fighters
Tactics: Expert guerrilla warfare and improvised warfare
Terrain: Jungles, rice paddies and remote villages
Soldier weaponry: AK-47 assault rifle, Dragunov SVD sniper rifle, RPG-7 recoilless rifle
Tanks: 2,000 to 3,000 (primarily T-54/T-55 main battle tanks)
Aircraft: 400 to 600 (primarily MiG-21 jet fighters)

My own conclusion:

This is a very interesting comparison. Nazi Germany was considered to be far ahead of their own time, but were they really twenty years into the future? I say not. The T-34 was proven to be equal to Nazi Germany's best tanks, and North Vietnam's T-55 is far superior to the T-34. Conclusion: Even if Germany sent all their 26,000 tanks into Vietnam it would be a difficult fight. Besides that, I doubt that a Tiger or Panzer would do well in the jungle. And lets not forget that a MiG-21 jet fighter is utterly superior to any propeller aircraft. We can also compare who succeeded the most: Nazi Germany failed against many WWII nations, while Vietnam defeated a nation using technology from the 1970s. In my opinion, thirty years of technological advancement is too much for the Germans to handle, and in the end this war would be concluded the same way that the American war was concluded for real: a tiresome guerrilla war until the attackers are forced into retreat.

1. In Deadliest Warrior, they compared Waffen SS (a German elite force) against the Viet Cong (a volunteer guerrilla; not the North Vietnamese army).
2. In Deadliest Warrior, the Viet Cong lost against the Waffen SS.
3. This battle includes tanks and air force.

O my bad. Anyway still stick to my answer that I had. Also depends how serious the Germans are if they want to blow over the place they pretty much can or they can go their like America did to try and fix the place and go back to Germany with their tail between their legs.

Deadliest warrior is garbage and historically and scientifically inaccurate and they often times deliberately rig fights in the way pop culture expects them to win

as to Ninja of Cao many countries may have made the Swastika illegal in Europe I hate the Nazi's the ideology and certainly have not ever tried to white wash the horrors committed by both the Japanese and the Nazi's

but that being said banning the Swastika is a violation of the right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression..it also is grossly irresponsible and stupid as it essentially is denying history..we can't sweet unpleasant memories under the rug

if people Wish to post such things as the Nazi iron cross or the Swastika it's the official position of this section that you are free to do so so long as it has value to the thread itself..if you however attempt to use it to troll you will be banned outright

to wit: the use of offensive images within the confines of the rules (IE no graphic nudity or depictions of murder) for the purpose of contributing to a thread is fine..you will not be given any mercy of you deliberately troll and try to offend members..We will not white wash reality or PC history but we will not allow you to abuse that right..

Personally I think Nazi Germany would win this. Strength in numbers and from what I can remember from my high school education Germany occupied a vast majority of Europe. North Korea seems like they are having issues trying to take over the other half of their own country.

Probably. After all, North Vietnam defeated USA in the 1970's - and I believe that 1970-USA was stronger than WWII Nazi Germany.

I have nothing against the symbol itself, since it is in fact a "good" symbol first appearing in Hindu writings. However, to avoid anyone here being offended I figured that it would be best to avoid it.

North Korea? They are not a part of this comparison. And the only reason why North Vietnam could not invade the South immediately was because of a large American presence. After the United States retreated from Vietnam, it only took a couple of years for the north to overwhelm the southern armies.
