A dream of falling from the sky... and then birth. Rakka is born from a large cocoon into the Old Home, greeted by a group of females with small wings on their backs and shining halos above their heads. Soon Rakka's own wings grow, a halo is placed on her head and she is told that she must work in the nearby town of Grie. She soon realizes that the town and the entire world they live in are confined behind the Wall, a tall, impenetrable wall that none except the mysterious Toga are allowed to exit.

Really good series. Highly recommend to anyone who likes a slower-paced series that really makes you think. It has a really interesting mystery and atmosphere, especially in the later episodes.

It's by the same creator as Serial Experiments Lain and Texhnolyze.

Is there a manga, is it ongoing

1. 13 episodes. It's definitely not ongoing, since it was made in 2002. It looks it's age, but it's still good.
2. No manga.
3. Not particularly. OP updated with the DVD cover. It has the main character on it. The character are generally pretty likable.
