Just so i'm certain I know what you are talking about, it's the armor that's on the cover of the game box, correct?

And for the Anti-Material rifle, I know you can get that from other places, and I don't think the ones the NCR Ranger Veterans carry are any different from the normal ones.

And it is possible to use a sneak attack to one-hit-kill someone from a certain faction, and not have the whole faction hate you forever, as long as you are "Hidden" when you do it. I think there is a perk that helps with this, but you need high stealth. I'm about 95% sure you can get the armor, if it's the armor I think you're talking about, another way than stealth killing the Ranger Veterans.

And I know. I just don't feel like paying almost 8000 caps for one. xD

I don't think I got that armor, but a friend of mine did, and I think I remember how he did it. I'll actually pop in the game here in a little bit to make sure.

I did it once a while back when it first came out. Are they able the patch something like that with an update? I climbed a mountain and did it at the Ranger camp near Cottonwood Cove. I got stuck on the mountain though, and I got caught in the air. >__> I wasn't smart enough to save.

Are you connected to.....Xbox Live? I assume you are playing on Xbox. There could be a patch to fix it released if it was long enough ago.

EDIT: Alright, you can get the armor, but you have to have a high reputation with the NCR. Talk to Colonel Hsu in Camp McCarran and if you're reputation is high enough, he'll give you a key the "NCR Ranger Safehouse". It's located south of the REPCONN Headquarters. It's got some other NCR armor stuff in there as well. It's located in the side of a mountain, but I don't think it's that hard to find. And all the armor is in crappy condition, so you'll need a lot of caps and find someone with a high repair skill.

Did ^this in game as I was typing it to make sure I remembered it right. Apparently I had already gotten the key before, and it wasn't showing up in my inventory, but I just went up to the door and could "use key".

It's the NCR Ranger Combat Armor and the Ranger Helmet.
