the first time I watched the destruction of Konoha arc, I was catching up on my Shippuden...god I was a fool. shoulda taken it slowly. All of em, that whole little arc, I could neither stop sobbing like a toddler in pain, nor could I bring myself to rip my eyes away from the screen or turn it off. Everyone I spent a decade or more growing to know and love...jesus. I didnt get a week in between to absorb everything episode by episode...no...i had to be a badass and go scarring my psyche. I have always been a little different since that day...
But single episode sadness has gotta go to Lee: A ninja no more.

My sadest ep was when itachi died and of course jiraya's death!

(1) When the "truth" (Tobi's story) about Itachi is revealed...I thought Itachi was a jerk rogue ninja who deserved to die by his brother's hands, but when I learned what really happened..it just made me sad.
(2) When Pain kills Kakashi...his last moments made me cry almost when he protected Choji with his last power..he also saved Iruka, who I thought was gonna die right there.
(3) Jiriya fighting Pain was sad...an incredible fight but the reflection of his life was made him a hero...and to be killed by a student, heart breaking

The entire Sasuke Retrieval Arc was so epic and so sad at the same time. And the back-story behind Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan. And when Naruto's parents sacrificed themselves. And the back-story behind Kakashi and Obito.

Jiraiya's death was sad, but it seems like everyone's said that.

Kakashi's death brought me near actual tears, but he turned out alright.

For some reason, the episode when Naruto lets Cloud Ninja beat the crap out of him makes me sad. It just seemed so unlike Naruto to not fight back.

Some episodes that made me sad were when Chiyo died. The whole part when Gaara was revived, when they brought her back to the sand and buried her, when Sakura was standing in front of her grave. Man, that got to me.

And I dunno about you all but the whole story of the Ame Orphans just really seeps me into a depression. Like, it was all just so tragic and at the end of the Invasion of Pain arc I about lost it. D: When everyone in the village was cheering about Naruto being the hero, I was sitting there as an emotional wreck! XD

Call me pathetic, but that's just how it was for me.

The Naruto series has its share of best episodes ever aired in its existences as a series. Some sad episodes would make fans upset or cry when it airs. Long story short, which is your saddest Naruto episodes you ever watched. It doesn't matter if it's from the original or Shippuden.

The saddest episode(s) for me was during the fight between Naruto and Gaara when Gaara had the flashback of him being lonely and having no friends. Especially when Yashamaru tried to kill him when Gaara thought he was his friend.

I cried on a lot of episodes but the saddest episodes were itachi's death, jiraya's death(I didn't like to see Naruto cry >_<) , when Hinata almost died! And then the scene when Minato and Kushina died ...

I haven't seen any of Shippuden, so my saddest moments are when Sasuke has that flashback of team seven, and when Rock Lee ruins himself chasing his goal in The Fifth Gate: A Splendid Ninja is Born.

some episodes mainly death episodes made me sad for specific person
- the death of the third I was sad for konohamru
- the death of assuma I was sad for shikamaru
I was sad for the death if Jiraiya. but really inspired by his last action
-and mostly sad for the death of Itachi, I knew he was good before I see the episode
-during sasuke retrieval arc the most tragic moment for me was when chuji read the note of his friends on the tree and realized that they had belief in him
-the image of child Gaara crying ( during gaara retrieval arc ) it was heart breaking, i just wanted to hug that child and tell him its ok, i was waiting when Naruto will hold his hand

Jiraiya's death hit me hardest. When Naruto started crying, that was the saddest episode. I cried with him.

Itachi's death was my #2. He was cool and I liked seeing his reverse stance, but only Jiraiya could hit me harder.

I cried the hardest when granny Chiyo died.

Naruto thought that she only passed out, but after he learnt that she died bringing Gaara back to life, I just could not stop crying.

I cried when Jiraiya died but cried even harder when everyone finds out. especially the part when Naruto is sitting on the bench staring at the melting popsicle and crying that was so sad.

The saddest moment for me was itachi's death, with all the flashbacks, and explaining who itachi truly was.
