Even though Sai is enraged I doubt he can keep up with Onoki!!

Onoki is as fast as dediara without trying TOO HARD! plus Sasori/Dediara were being controlled and undersitmated Sai

Sasori and Deidara got owned. Plain and simple.

I dunno how fast Onoki is though given he's a Kage he's probably up there.

But Onoki has wind style and can fly. That spells trouble for Sai Shaft.

Dust Style counteracts Torune's bugs.

Onoki can stay out of reach of Yamato and Kakashi and attack from afar.

He kept up with Dediara's clay bird which means he is around garra's sand speed.

No! Madara would react in time.

Deidara and Sasori were just TOO SLOW.

Also the control argument isn't very good considering that Kabuto
gave them free reign. Only Chukichi was truly "under control".

Overconfidence is a factor. If I see an ant an I laugh at it and suddendly I get sucker punched from behind it was due to my overconfidence. ALso they have different abilities from Madara so that is not a fair comparison. But actually Madara is VERY overconfident which is way he got him numerous times by the kages

Also reaction time tends to be faster than foot speed.

First off I already agree Onoki is faster than Sai Shaft.

Secondly...yes he was faster. They weren't moving because by the time
the thought registered in their brain they were already caught.

Yea I agree that Onoki wins unless Kakashi finds a way to trap him in genjutsu or hide long enough to avoid getting nuked. But as for the whole Sai vs. Deidara and Sasori thing. I do think it counts as a speed feat for Sai but yeah I agree with Prince that overconfidence played a huge role in them being hit. I mean if the guy who was just drawing tiny rats and cute little snakes a second ago just pops up behind me with two god statues I'd have a big look on my face too. That was a shocking ability for someone like Sai.

Kakashi trapped fodder ANBU in genjutsu and for an old timer like Onoki who battled the GREAT MADARA ....... I doubt kakashi's genjutsu would be very effective

Zabuza was not fodder and he got mindraped by Kakashi's genjutsu. In case you forgot Onoki got stomped effortlessly by the GREAT MADARA, as a matter of fact, Madara said killing Onoki was beneath him because Onoki was so weak. I don't think it would be able to hold him for long given his experience but it can certainly create an opening.

Once again I think the Kage will win this fight a majority of the time, but the ANBU team has a chance because of Kakashi. If Sai can get them all into the air Kakashi can pressure Onoki while the others devise a plan of attack. If you remember the training grounds fight at the beginning of shippuden, Kakashi weaves hand signs so fast Naruto and Sakura couldn't even see them. Once he gets into the sky Kakashi can use fireballs, water dragons, and lightning dogs to force Onoki into a corner where hopefully Torune, Sai, or Yamato can land a hit.

When was Zabuza under genjutsu? And Zabuza is about ANBU level. Zabuza also barely had info on the sharigan. Onoki has experience with Sharigan/genjutsu.

The team would be too dependent on the birds. ONE HIT and the birds/team goes down. Plus it would take Sai more time to make the birds. Also Onoki is WAYYYY faster than Sai's birds. Onoki does not have to counter he can quickly fly away from harm

Once again Kamui is restricted. Which always leads to Kakashi and company getting smashed.
