Chapter 603 Made A Lot Of Questions...

Before I get into things, I want to make my prediction for what's going to happen in the next few chapters. Obito is going to see Kakashi fail to protect Rin, she dies. I personally think that Kakashi bailed on Rin again for the success of a mission, and that's why she died. Zetsu was definitely in on setting this up. This is what is going to make Obito crack! If you can remember when Pain resurrected the entire Hidden Leaf Village in exchange for his life, Tobi (Obito at this point) said something like... "What a betrayal, that jutsu was suppose to be used for my benefit." At the time most people thought he was Madara, and that he mean't to resurrect himself to his prime. But it was in fact Obito... and I think he mean't that he wanted Pain to resurrect Rin. That's all I got for now!

ZETSU EXPLAINED:

- As you can tell from the past few chapters, we've seen that there are two white Zetsu's.
- One has a spiral face, and the other is the present day one.
- So what happened to spiral faced Zetsu? He DIED in Deidara's blast! When Deidara was fighting Sasuke.

I re-read/re-watched the part, and this is what I found...
(After blast goes off)
Black Zetsu: "Where's Tobi?"
White Zetsu: "It looks like he got caught inside the blast, after all."

^ Right after this happened, Jiraiya fought Pain and died. Then that's when Tobi confronted Kakashi, Yamato, Naruto, and Sakura and stopped them from interrupting Sasuke fighting his brother.

WHERE DID BLACK ZETSU COME FROM?

- The white half of Zetsu is made from the First Hokage's DNA, so what is black Zetsu made from?
- I think the most logical answer... is Madara Uchiha's DNA!
- If you think about it, we've seen white Zetsu fight... but never black Zetsu.
- Plus, it makes sense. White Zetsu (light) - First Hokage's DNA, black Zetsu
(dark) - Madara Uchiha's DNA.

WHAT IS "TOBI", AND WHERE DID THE NAME COME FROM?

Tobi is indeed Obito, but there's a lot that I'm unsure of...
1. - Is it actually Obito's soul inside his body?
2. - Why did he wear three different masks?
3. - Where did the name "Tobi" even come from?

1. Tobi is Obito with Madara's, the First Hokage's, and every single Zetsu's (both white Zetsu's, and black Zetsu) DNA inside him. It's at the point that I think Obito just hates the "world of lies", and wants what Madara wants... "peace".
2. Now for the whole mask thing... I think that at first when he had flames/curves on it there really wasn't much of a reason. But... when I looked at the mask he first wore I noticed something, it kind of looks like the side of his face that got crushed. OR... if you've read closely you'd remember that Orochimaru has something to do with all this/has knowledge of it. Maybe Obito got a curse mark from Orochimaru, and that's where the idea for the mask design came from? :O The swirl mask came about when "Tobi" (which I think was originally spiral white Zetsu) played the role of Madara Uchiha, while Obito was getting other things arranged... it would be a swirl because that's his actual face. Later on spiral white Zetsu got killed in Deidara's suicide blast, that's when Obito took his place (making a mask to look like him). After Deidara's suicide blast is when Obito (Tobi), confronted Kakashi and his crew. He talked like spiral white Zetsu for awhile, maybe so they'd think it was the same person the whole time. Then that's when his voice got deep, and he revealed himself... claiming to be Madara Uchiha. "Tobi" hasn't talked in his high pitched voice since.
3. I think that the spiral white Zetsu's actual name is Tobi, or else that's a nickname the Zetsu's gave Obito.

I disagree with spiral zetsu dying in Deidara's explosion. Even after his death, Tobi still acted goofy toward Kakashi, Sai, Naruto and Sakura until the brothers were done with their fight. Then Obito's supposed personality stepped in and he showed everyone his Sharingan.

^ What he/she said. But I do agree with Tobi being a nickname for that spiraly zetsu. Zetsu did say he's a "good boy" so it'd make sense that Tobi would be used as a name.

My thing is only half of Obito's body is real, so no matter what he will always be half an artificially produced human. I'm not really going anywhere with this, but I feel like the link between Zetsu and Obito are key to answering a lot of questions!

I think Obito acted goofy towards them on purpose, so they wouldn't think something was up. Obito knew that Kakashi had intel on "Tobi" (spiral white Zetsu), so he acted like him... but in reality it was a new person, which is Obito.

If I were to answer this myself, I believe Obito and the change of masks symbolize a significant change in his character. This could be in term of the moons eye plan, or his ideals, his power, etc. We don't really know, but I feel like every change of mask is relative to something major happening.

Obito has earth style ninjutsu from the First Hokage's DNA/and Zetsu parts. So you're saying that they should have shown us a bit more mourning for the death of spiral white Zetsu, whom we didn't even know existed at the time?

Yup! Okay bear with me. MAYBE Obito's first mask with the flames could very well be linked to the Uchiha name - obviously they have an affinity for fire, and Obito's fireball jutsu is what made him HIM I guess at the time.

His MS was awakened after seeing Rin die, and purely out of emotion acted hastily in trying to take out the village with all this stored up tailed beast power that Madara had lent him. His skills at this time aren't very refined and I believe he still used the spiraly zetsu at this time. Powerful- but still not enough to defeat Minato, Obito escaped death due to having spiraly zetsu's body as somewhat of an armor. I don't really know why he used or why he was so proficient with that chain but that's besides the point. He retreated and lost possession of the nine tails. Much like how Sasuke had his awakening moment when Tobi told him 'the truth', Obito was talked to in the same manner when nursing his injuries.

This sparked a change in him as a character, almost a maturity of some sort and he spent the rest of his time refining his skills and going forward with the moons eye plan after zetsu enlightened him on Madara's initial plan to resurrect himself. As a tribute to Tobi and to signify his maturity as a character (or also maybe his own newfound power in Kamui), he took on a spiral mask and also became somewhat of a lab rat in the same way Orochimaru was, to create black zetsu with madara's dna. That might explain black zetsu's keen sensing abilities and the ability to 'record' fights. Although the more I think about it, I feel like black Zetsu is able to communicate with Obito somehow telepathically because there has to be a way Zetsu can show Obito these 'recordings. On that note, I don't really know when Obito or Tobi gave Nagato the Rinnegan or when they even became associated with each other but I hope the timing of it makes sense! And with all that said, that leads to the start of the series and where we are now!

Tobi could have used his earth style and zetsu parts to travel underground an away from the danger zone

we should have not seen the mourning but the Akaskui would have mourned. Nagato commanded the others to mourn the death of their commrades or at least acknolwedge it

Obito even said to Saskue when they first met

All you did here was just give more reason as too why it was a different Tobi.

1. Yes, if it was the Tobi that we have now he could have used his earth style to go into the ground. But what if it wasn't... and was actually the spiral white Zetsu, maybe he can't go into the ground? Have you ever seen him morph into the ground? No, you have not. Did you ever stop and think that maybe only the other white Zetsu can do that? Regardless of all that, spiral white Zetsu is an idiot... he's probably not fast enough/coordinated enough to escape danger that fast.

2. Why would the Akatsuki mourn? It was only Zetsu that knew who Tobi really was, which was spiral white Zetsu. So instead of telling everyone that "Tobi" was dead, he called Obito to be his replacement. I think they switched on and off before all this happened. But the one that got caught in the blast/died was spiral white Zetsu.

3. Of course Obito would say that... so Sasuke doesn't think that he's a different person. He had Sasuke believing that he was Madara Uchiha by the end of it all, I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be hard to lie to him.

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, wrong. Black Zetsu fought Mei and Naruto's clone. We did see him fight Mei in the manga, and in the anime, pretty sure that was about 2 weeks ago.

Zetzu said that "yes WE can move through the earth" and why would he pretend to be another tobi for kakashi and the others i cant remember that they even saw or met him before. So acting like someone else when they dont know you is retarded, did he ever say that he was madara uchiha to sasuke? thought sasuke only thought it was him cause itachi told him about him, and why would he say last time we met we were enemies if that wasnt true? that only makes you less trustworthy. and of course we havnt seen him go under ground it has been 1chapter with him and right now he is stuck to obito so doubtfull he can use his powers while merged with him.
And on a side note black zetzu and tobi cant speak through their minds then he wouldnt have to send a white zetsu to him when he was fighting the mizukage

woww I disagree with pretty much everything one black zetzu did fight the mizukage and he used moukouton he was more of a battle ready zetzu he didn't heal tho or make clones I think that hasharama's abilitys couldn't be revived in full so madara had to split them into two seperate beings white zetzu(healing, clones,and earth elemental movement) black zetzu( more signifigant, no clones, moukouton, more battle ready personality)
