Beat Up Child in a Murder Family

Am I alive?
Am I asleep?
All I saw was a knife,
Pierced inside of me.

My cradle seemed messy,
With dirt and blood.
Chunks and bits,
Of human remains in the tub.

My teddy bear's stuffing is a mess,
Stringing by its head on the wall.
Like a butcher blade stabbing flesh,
But the bear doesn't cry at all.

Scars and bruises cover my skin,
With dents in my blood.
People hit me, scream, and scorn at me,
As if my family cares if I love.

My hair is chopped up,
With the ends resembling the edge of the blade.
My hands are crusty like sandpaper,
I think that's how they were made.

Mama likes kitchen knives,
Papa prefers an axe.
Sissy uses a hammer,
Of which they use to attack.

I can't leave the house,
I can't hide in the closet.
So all I do is huddle in the corner,
My tears allow my body to rivet.

When no one's home,
I pet my wounded body and torn animal.
But when they all come home,
Their anger, in violence, I have to handle.
