I know this isnt really an answer (YOU WIMP!!
 )but id like if we could find the middle.Since the Extreme ends never makes everyone happy comprimise seems like the perfect solution. Fair Trade forces already economicly powerfull lands/organisations to do less then their best for their market/people just because some other country cant get its act together. Why? While Free trade is basicly a battle of best and leaves the countries that can not produce the optimum and most wanted products behind stuck trying to struggle out of something of which they can never escape . Countries that are trying to develop and stand on their own would never get a chance to. So maybe they could have a free market with a Beginners/Tutorial program for countries trying to find a place in market. In this program a country would learn what they can produce the best how they can produce its costs and while in this "tutorial'' countries wouldnt apply tariffs to the products of countries in the tutorial. And after the countries can atleast not get totally left behind in the market they would go out of the program and enter the free trade with atleast the knowledge and sources to compete with the other countries.
