I was looking forward to the war, but I have been disappointed. Why does everyone stop fighting to talk? Average people can talk while running around, why do ninja pause during the middle of a fight to the death in a war, just to talk or listen? I'd rather see the characters doing smaller moves, or running around or anything during the conversation heavy parts, instead of standing around waiting for the enemy to finish their dialogue. Furthermore, panning the camera over a still for five minutes doesn't feel like animation. A few things take away from the sense of urgency the war should have, and the encounters seem like debates rather than battles.

Why are you surprised? It happens in basically every form of entertainment. Characters stop fighting to talk to each other all the time.

That's not true. What war movie or anime has characters standing in the open thinking or having a discussion? In the vast majority of everything, the characters take cover and yell the conversation so they can be heard through the chaos and the danger. People were being killed and they were also at risk. The enemy wouldn't stop attacking you because you want a time out
