Lord of the Rings vs Game of Thrones

The forces of Isengard are ordered to claim more lands in the name of Sauron, and so they aim for Westeros. House Lannister stands ready to defend their homeland, and the two forces collide on the open fields of Westeros. House Lannister have assembled their heavily armored knights and foot soldiers, while the Isengard forces rely on similarly armored Uruk-hai, as well as wildmen and orcish Warg riders.

Location: A heavily fortified castle defended by the Lannisters, the Uruk-hai starting with the same siege equipment used during the Battle for Helm's Deep.

From what I have seen, an elite warrior (example; Aragon, Boromir, Gimli) without the use of supernatural powers, can easily outmaneuver several Uruk-Hai at once. And I believe that Jaime Lannister is in that category.

However, one man will not change the outcome of a conflict. The Lannisters have longer swords than the Uruk-Hai, but apparently they have no shields. Both armies rely on heavily armoured troops with pikes as their primary fighting force, though the Warg riders could cause some trouble for the Lannister cavalry.

Perhaps I should have made it more realistic by adding House Lannister's total of 60,000 men (as stated here) by including their vassals. After all, the Uruk-Hai grand army that marched against Helm's deep only had 10,000 men. And six Lannister soldiers should be able to defeat a single Uruk-Hai.

I am not certain that the valid number is, but I would say about 10-20% of their forces.

Let's say 18,000 so the numbers are equal.

But if the Lannisters are six times the Uruk-hai numbers, they must offer some resistance. I understand that a single Uruk-hai is definately more powerful than a single Lannister soldier, but six against one seems to be out of the Uruk-hai league to me.

Really, Lannisters lose because of you scenario. Open field is murder. If they get to start in a castle fortifications and sneak their horsemen behind, they win just as the Rider's of Rohan did. If I am not mistaken, the Riders had fewer men and still won.

Well, the defenders of Helm's Deep managed to put up quite a fight against 10,000 Uruk-hai, and they were mostly peasants that were outnumbered as well. Of course they had Elves, and they would have lost without the cavalry reinforcements. But still, their resistance was remarkable.

they won because they were able to hold out long enough for Gandalf to charge them with the sun at his back...and route them (also a large number of orks were present) also the Rohirim didn't defeat the forces present there..

All Gandalf and Eomer did was route them using the sun and their numbers a mass cavalry charge..the ones who finally defeat the forces of Saruman was the legion of Sentient trees that marched into Rohan turf and butchered the retreating forces

Also Helms Deep was built by the power of Numenor..its a fortress made by the same people who made steel bows capable of firing hypersonic arrows.. Greek fire that had the power of nuclear bombs and the Watch towers of Amon Sol and Amon Hen (I think is the name) which functioned as god sats

it took enormous effort on Sarumans part to breach the defenses and a type of gunpowder that likely would be on par with modern explosive tech to do it...

The Lannisters have nothing to offer on that level to resist them...nothing

they don't have a legion of super strong pissed off trees..they don't have Numenorian fortified stone and they don't have an istari

they were peasents hiding behind stone constructed with the knowledge of the sea kings...fighting for their very existence lead by a leader with enormous amounts of charisma and love

All depends on horsemen even in this scenario, but Rider's of Rohan did have the benefit of coming down a steep incline. Reminiscent of the Greeks routing the Persians when they landed during the Perisan War.

Why Lannister's don't have magic, there is really no feats of magic used agasint the orcs in the book anyway. Besides maybe Gandalf, but it was really the horsemen that won that battle. However, if the Lannister can use Wildfire, they win rather easily.
